Is Odell Beckham Jr. Playing Today? Latest Surrounding Ravens WR’s Status

Odell Beckham Jr. has had a disappointing season statistically. Is he playing in the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs?

Odell Beckham Jr. is looking to return to the Super Bowl, this time with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and Beckham will be hoping to contribute more than he has over the season.

After suffering an injury in the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl victory, Beckham has been desperate to return to the big game, and this could be his best chance. However, still suffering from injuries this season, is Beckham available to play?

Will Odell Beckham Jr. Play in the AFC Championship Game?

If Baltimore is to be victorious and reach the Super Bowl, they will need Beckham to produce. While he hasn’t been utilized often in 2023, he is available for the AFC Championship Game.

Beckham does not appear on the Ravens’ latest injury report and is healthy to play against the Chiefs. The WR has missed time in 2023 and was rested in Week 18 with the Ravens already locking up the No. 1 seed in the AFC. However, Beckham was hardly used in the Divisional Round.

He was healthy to play in the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, but Beckham didn’t feature heavily. Beckham only had one reception for 12 yards in the entire game. He only saw the field for 20 total plays and was rarely seen in the fourth quarter.

The injury report in Week 18 didn’t hint at any potential injury and had Beckham’s game status as out due to “rest/coach decision.”

The usage of Beckham in the Ravens’ offense had been low throughout the season. He only has more than 50 receiving yards in three games in 2023, and the most receptions he has had in a single game have been five.

In the regular season, Beckham featured in 14 games. He caught 335 of his 64 targets for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

It means Beckham finished second on the team for targets and yards behind rookie Zay Flowers and just ahead of TE Mark Andrews, who only saw action in 10 games.

It has been a disappointing season statistically for Beckham, but as he told reporters, “I’m always intense when it comes to this.”

“I think everybody has a sense of urgency,” Beckham said. “Everybody’s excited about the opportunity that we have.”

It means everything for Beckham to return to the Super Bowl this season. Beckham exited Super Bowl LVI with a torn ACL when playing for the Rams, and it has taken him years to recover.

“Everybody knows how the Super Bowl ended for me,” Beckham said. “It’s been a long two and a half years, so it all boils down to this. We only have four or five days guaranteed left. Everything else, you earn after that. I don’t think anybody in this building takes it lightly.”

HC John Harbaugh also shared that “[Beckham is] at his best right now.”

Yet, Beckham’s usage hinted at something else. It could have been down to the game plan or additional rest, but his lack of contribution and targets in 2023 could carry on.
