Both Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy enter Sunday of Week 13 questionable, leaving fantasy football managers in limbo regarding the Denver Broncos‘ passing game. Is either of the Broncos’ WRs expected to suit up today, or could fantasy managers find themselves without both as they push for the playoffs?
Update: Both Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton are active for Week 13.
Are Courtland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy Playing Today?
Friday saw a reversal in the situations of the Broncos’ top two WRs. As of Thursday, Sutton was a full participant in practice and on track to play. Meanwhile, Jeudy had not participated in practice for nearly three weeks and was a long shot to play. Then, on Friday, Jeudy returned to practice while Sutton was out with an illness, resulting in both being listed as questionable.
That left both players in intriguing situations heading into the weekend. As of Sunday morning, there have been reports that both are expected to play or at least optimistic about playing, with the majority of the focus on Jeudy.
The fact that many reports have not even mentioned Sutton suggests he is on track to play. Him not playing would be the bigger story. The problem is, with a spluttering offense, can fantasy managers actually trust either player in their lineups for Week 13?
Fantasy Outlook for Jeudy and Sutton in Week 13
Entering Week 13, Denver has just eight passing touchdowns, which is the second-fewest in the league. As a result, Jeudy and Sutton are outside of the top 40 WR options in terms of fantasy points per game, averaging 9.2 and 8.7 per game in half-PPR, respectively.
The matchup this week for the Broncos is a tough one to unpick. The Ravens’ defense allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing WRs on average, 31.37 in half-PPR scoring. However, that number is largely driven by two big weeks. They allowed 79.7 fantasy points to the Miami Dolphins WRs back in Week 2 and then 50 fantasy points to the Jacksonville Jaguars receivers last week.
Across the rest of the season, Baltimore has only allowed over 30 fantasy points to receivers on two other occasions (Weeks 1 and 8). Additionally, since Week 5, they’ve held opposing wide receivers to under 20 fantasy points on four occasions. So while this defense is sometimes vulnerable to opposing receivers, the odds are stacked against the Broncos based on how this offense has played this year.

Out of the two Broncos WRs, the better option to look at in season-long leagues or Underdog Fantasy Best Ball drafts is Sutton. Illnesses can be tough to judge in terms of their impact on fantasy options. We’ve seen some players suffer no effects while others have been heavily impacted. However, unless we hear otherwise, Sutton should be less limited than Jeudy.
With Jeudy only having one day of limited practice in three weeks, it would be a surprise if he plays a large number of snaps this week. If you start Jeudy or draft in Best Ball leagues, you’re hoping for him to have one or two big plays. He is certainly capable of that, but it’s not the percentage play this week with such little practice time.
