The fantasy football IDP report will provide an early look at several waiver wire priorities of varying league sizes, along with preliminary Week 13 IDP rankings. Since all leagues are different sizes and have differing IDP requirements, the weekly rankings might be more beneficial than the waiver list.
As usual, the rankings are a reflection of IDP Flex rankings for tackle-heavy formats. We’re diving a little deeper in the rankings early this week to help with the four early games this week. Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy that special time with whoever you might celebrate with!
Chop Robinson, DE, Miami Dolphins
Normally, it’s not recommended to play rookie pass rushers. In fact, I don’t even like to roster them in redraft leagues, as most will underperform. Chop Robinson is coming on strong now though and belongs on rosters and possibly in lineups depending on league formats.
Chop Robinson among all defenders in Week 12:
🐬 10 pressures (T-1st)
🐬 38.5% pressure rate (1st)
🐬 50.0% pass rush win rate (1st) pic.twitter.com/ecnVbb55jb— PFF MIA Dolphins (@PFF_Dolphins) November 26, 2024
A quick look at some pass-rush metrics makes the strong case for how he may perform down the stretch. Just hitting 10 pressures in a game in kind of bonkers, and makes the other metrics in the above tweet make sense. He converting as well, posting his first career sack a month ago and now is up to 3.5 total sacks on his year.
Malik Harrison, LB, Baltimore Ravens
A tricky one if looking for a plug and play, but Malik Harrison was discussed a little last week with Trenton Simpson. After Harrison played nearly a full snap share while Simpson slipped to around 50%, we’ve got a hard situation. That’s before mentioning the possible return of Roquan Smith.
Smith is obviously the LB1 when healthy, but with the Week 14 bye he may sit again to get fully healthy. Even if back, did Harrison just play that role or is he potentially the LB2? Harrison posting 13 tackles in Week 12 makes him a potential stash and a smash play if the Ravens sit Smith in Week 13.
Tyrel Dodson, LB, Miami Dolphins
If you do need a start for Week 13, though, consider Tyrel Dodson if he’s been dropped. After being cut by the Seahawks, he may well be on waivers but he needs to be back on rosters after the Week 12 outcome.
On 70% of snaps, Dodson posted five tackles and an interception. Now, Miami plays on Thanksgiving night in Lambeau, and Anthony Walker is unlikely to play with the hamstring injury. That makes Dodson an easy plug-and-play option for anyone looking for a solid tackle performance.
Jonathan Owens, S, Chicago Bears
Let’s talk another injury replacement type playing on Thanksgiving at the DB or safety spot for managers. With Jaquan Brisker on IR and Elijah Hicks missing practice again, Jonathan Owens will be locked in as the starter again as the Bears’ starter.
Owens got his first real run on defense in Week 12, and the results showed why he should be considered as a streamer again this week. Owens totaled a nice eight tackles in the game, as well as a forced fumble and a recovery. Playing the Lions in Week 13, I’d expect a similar tackle performance from Owens.

Top IDP Players To Start in Week 13
Nick Cross, S, Indianapolis Colts
Nick Cross has been a steal for IDP gamers savvy enough to grab him early in the 2024 fantasy season. Finally locked into a full-time box-heavy role, all Cross has done is rack up tackles, despite playing with multiple LBs also capable of piling up plenty of stops themselves.
Colts LBs have the most (Zaire Franklin) and fourth-most (E.J. Speed) stops, and Nick Cross sits second in the NFL in tackles. Cross has posted 10 or more tackles in six games this season. He’s fallen below seven tackles just twice. That’s a remarkable level of consistency for a DB, and makes him a locked-and-loaded starter.
Frankie Luvu, LB, Washington Commanders
Frankie Luvu has been a bit up and down as a LB in 2024. This is tied to his role in the defense and isn’t about Luvu, but he’s a smash play in Week 13. Seven of Luvu’s 12 games have been at seven or more tackles.
He’s eclipsed that mark now in three straight games and needs to be in lineups. He belongs as a LB2, though. Because of the up-and-down nature, he can be streaky. Luvu has also gotten a sack in five games on the year. Combining the sack upside with some tackles, he’s got a high ceiling. The Titans give up the third-most sacks, so start him with confidence.
