With turkeys hitting the table and stuffing being scooped onto plates, what better way to enjoy your feast than with another NFL Thanksgiving Day game? It’s time for Turkey Day in Dallas as the Cowboys host the New York Giants for the second game of the holiday tripleheader.
After grabbing a thrilling victory on the road a week ago, will the Cowboys be able to give their home fans a show after a tough season? Here’s how to watch the NFL Thanksgiving Day game between the Cowboys and Giants, including the start time, channel, live stream options, and more.
How Do You Watch the Second NFL Thanksgiving Day Game?
The Cowboys host the second-oldest NFL Thanksgiving tradition, hosting a game on the holiday since 1966. After meeting with the Washington Commanders for the 11th time on Thanksgiving in 2023, Dallas improved their overall record to 33-22-1.
While the Giants have played on Thanksgiving 16 times, 11 appearances occurred between 1926 and 1938, well before the Cowboys started hosting a game on Turkey Day. This matchup will be the Giants’ sixth Thanksgiving appearance since 1982 and just the third against the Cowboys. Dallas leads the Thanksgiving series 3-0. Here’s how to watch the NFC East NFL Thanksgiving Day game.

A miserable five-week stretch saw the Cowboys lose quite a few players, most importantly QB Dak Prescott and the season-ending surgery to repair a partially torn hamstring, sidelining the Cowboys’ franchise QB for three months.
Unfortunately, the offense hadn’t looked all that great with him out there to begin with, and it’s only gotten worse with Cooper Rush taking over under center. Dallas’ offense scored a combined 16 points in games versus the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans before rattling off 20 last week against the Commanders and some wild kickoff returns.
Will they be able to keep the momentum going against a worse-off Giants squad? RB Rico Dowdle has looked good since taking over as the lead back for the Cowboys’ offense and could do some damage against the Giants. But if Dallas should be thankful for anything in this Thanksgiving Day NFL game, the defense also gets to tee off against a backup QB.
It’s looking less and less likely that Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito will be able to start after taking a beating against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5. Given the decision to start DeVito over Drew Lock, letting him rest against the Cowboys’ defensive front might be a smart idea if they hope for DeVito to finish the season.
The Giants are looking for any level of offense competency after being completely shut down by Tampa Bay. The offense was only able to gain 245 total yards and saw five drives end in six plays or less. Who knows if Lock will be able to provide more than DeVito?
It was apparent that the level of play would dip after benching and releasing Daniel Jones, but head coach Brian Daboll’s seat was starting to get a bit hot because of how bad things were. The schedule down the stretch isn’t great, but Daboll will have to show some improvement over the final six weeks to show the Giants’ front office he deserves some more time. Playing a competitive NFL Thanksgiving Day game would be a great start.
