The first two years for Jayden Daniels in the NFL have been a complete roller coaster. Coming into the league as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, he was selected second overall by the Washington Commanders.
Since then, he’s already established his talent and proven himself at an extremely high level. However, the one cloud that seems to be hanging over his head is the involvement of his mother, Regina Jackson. Now, she has spoken up about her focus on her son’s life.
Regina Jackson Remains Steadfast Behind Jayden Daniels
Coming into the league with high expectations, Daniels instantly transformed the Commanders franchise. From a four-win team, he immediately dragged them to the NFC Championship Game, winning 12 games during the regular season.
His mix of accuracy through the air and shiftiness on the ground made him a nightmare dual-threat cover. As a result, the expectations were sky-high heading into the 2025 season. Unfortunately, the biggest concern with Daniels came to fruition.
With an extremely slender build, injuries were always a worry for the former Offensive Rookie of the Year. His second year in the league was marred by constant issues, which ultimately limited him to just seven games played.

But the hope is still high for Daniels and Washington to turn it around in 2026. His journey was a key focus for the third season of the Quarterback series on Netflix. However, the show also addressed the elephant in the room.
Putting out a post on X, Jackson proudly wrote, “Season 3 of QB. Glad to showcase to the world that I still work daily for Sunrun. Take a peak.”

Given the focus on her relationship with Daniels, which Brandon Aiyuk also tried to publicly call them out for, the show was an opportunity for her to tell her side of the story.
Sharing a clip from the show as well, she revealed, “Jayden’s very to himself. He’s very quiet, observes a lot of people around him, doesn’t really speak too much, he doesn’t like to be out in the limelight, which is hard being cause being an NFL quarterback you’re at the limelight.”

However, she also got a chance to clarify her involvement in his life and decisions across his football career. “I don’t need Jayden’s money. I have my own money, I do my own thing. Me helping Jayden is what I’m supposed to do as a mother.”
The latest season of the documentary has given fans a chance to get an inside look into Daniels and his relationship with his mother. It remains to be seen if that changes the outlook around them. But at the very least, it has given Jackson a chance to control the narrative.
