The NFC West has somehow been a juggernaut of a division so far this season. With three teams at 3-1, and another .500 team at the bottom, it suddenly feels like the winner might need to go through a bloodbath.
One of the biggest games from the division, though, takes place to open Week 5 in the NFL, as the San Francisco 49ers travel to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams. While both teams are at 3-1, the two squads come into the game with vastly different mindsets. After returning to their winning ways last week, the Rams hope to continue their momentum at home.
On the other hand, the 49ers suffered their first loss of the year. As the battle lines are drawn, Los Angeles is doing everything possible to make the game a spectacle worth remembering, including a hometown favorite Halftime Show.
Halftime Show for 49ers vs. Rams
In the days leading up to the game, the goal for Los Angeles has taken a turn. Rather than going into a competitive match against another potential contender in the NFC, they’re going against an injury-ravaged 49ers roster without a plethora of their starters.
As a result, head coach Sean McVay is likely to aim to avoid mistakes and take home the victory rather than trying to be cute with the game plan. The spectacle of a Thursday Night game, though, will be present in SoFi.
For the national anthem, they are bringing in the world-renowned saxophonist Mike Phillips, while the USC Army ROTC presents the colors. However, that isn’t all that the paying audience in attendance will be subject to.
During the Halftime break, the stage is set for Awolnation to blow away the crowd, as presented by American Airlines. An official statement from the Rams website revealed all you need to know about the group.
“Awolnation is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Best known for their Diamond-certified hit “Sail,” the group has spent a record-breaking number of weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 for an independent artist. The band, fronted by Aaron Bruno, is also recognized for their electronic-rock sound, which mixes rock, alternative, and electronic dance music.”
The one hope the team will have is that their performance isn’t soured by a less-than-ideal showing from a Rams roster that walks in as the overwhelming favorites by a comfortable margin.
