Haason Reddick Claps Back at Bill Belichick Over Jets Criticism After 25-22 Loss to Patriots

Haason Reddick made his debut for the New York Jets in their Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots. This was the Jets’ fifth straight loss, and they are now 2-6 on the season.

The star linebacker was fined millions of dollars for skipping games and practice, but he ended his holdout after signing a reworked one-year deal before the Patriots game. Unfortunately, he did not make any impact in the game and was criticized by Bill Belichick.

Haason Reddick Responds to Bill Belichick’s Criticism

In a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Belichick called out both the Jets and Reddick for their performance against the Patriots.

“A lot of mistakes by the Jets, and that ended up killing them at the end with Jacoby’s scrambles,” said Belichick. “Reddick came in the game and just ran by the quarterback multiple times, creating those scramble lanes that the Patriots took advantage of.”

In the 25-22 loss to the Patriots, Reddick played 26 snaps but failed to register any tackle, sack, or measurable stat.

Reddick did not like Belichick’s comments and took a dig at him.

“Aye someone call Bill Belichick and give him a job,” wrote Reddick on X. “Seems like he’s home bored and can’t keep me out of his mouth.”

The legendary head coach left the Patriots after last season and did not get a new job in the offseason. He came close to becoming the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, but the NFC South franchise instead opted for Raheem Morris.

Belichick is expected to become a head coach again after this season, but until then, he will be a weekly guest on “The Pat McAfee Show.” If the Jets don’t start playing well, they’ll hear more criticism from the person who tormented them for over two decades.

Reddick, Jets Aim To Redeem Themselves in Week 9

The Jets will play the Houston Texans in Week 9. The game is on Thursday night, and the AFC East franchise has the opportunity to redeem itself pretty quickly after an alarming loss to the Patriots.

Their season is not over yet, but if they want to have any chances of making the playoffs, the Jets need a win against the Texans. Houston is 6-2 on the season, and defeating them will be a huge achievement for New York.

However, for that to be possible, the Jets’ defense needs to play better. Since the franchise fired Robert Saleh, the team has given up an average of 28.3 points in the last three games. Reddick, who has constantly been criticized for his holdout, can also raise his value around the league if he plays well in the upcoming game.

If the Jets lose this game, expect them to trade away some pieces to get back draft capital to reload for next season.
