Brazilian fashion model Gisele Bündchen and quarterback Tom Brady were together for nearly 16 years and married for 13 before the relationship ended in divorce. Bündchen has had an inside view of Brady’s NFL career, and it was recently revealed that she did not always like what she saw.
Robert Kraft Reveals Gisele Bündchen’s Outburst Over Bill Belichick’s Treatment of Tom Brady
The Apple TV+ docuseries “The Dynasty” captures the Patriots’ dominance for over two decades as well as the controversies during that run. A big focus of contention for the end of New England’s reign over the NFL was the fractured relationships between Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, and Brady.
Ben Volin of the Boston Globe recently revealed a conversation with Kraft regarding a meeting with Bündchen and Brady in 2018. Although Brady was successful with the Patriots, Belichick reportedly wanted to move on and find a new QB.
The producer of “The Dynasty” attempted to ask Brady what was discussed with his ex-wife Bündchen at Kraft’s home in 2018.
“There are some things I’d like to keep to myself,” Brady said, per Volin.
Kraft met with Brady and Bündchen to discuss the matter, and Bündchen wasn’t happy with how Belichick treated her husband, Kraft recalled.
“I heard Gisele say, ‘That effin’ Belichick, he doesn’t treat my Tommy like a man,’” Kraft said. “I realized how bad the situation was, and I said, ‘Tommy, if you want to go, I’ll work it out so you can go.’”
Brady stuck around that season and helped the Patriots win Super Bowl LIII, but he eventually left in 2020 and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Belichick left New England four years later after parting ways with the franchise.
Kraft also reportedly shared that Brady confided with him over Belichick’s treatment.
“Tom and I had a number of discussions about how Bill treated him,” the Patriots owner said. “Tommy is very sensitive. He was always looking for Bill’s approval, almost in a father-son kind of way. And that’s not Bill’s style ever to give that.”
In the docuseries, Brady admitted that the reason he left New England was because of Belichick.
“Me and Coach Belichick, we did what we loved and competed for 20 years together. But I wasn’t going to sign another contract even if I wanted to play until 50,” Brady said in the docuseries. “Based on how things had gone, I wasn’t going to sign up for more of it.”
In his first season with the Buccaneers, Brady went on to win his seventh Super Bowl title. Belichick made just one playoff appearance since Brady’s departure and was fired from New England at the end of the 2023 NFL season.
