Germie Bernard’s NFL Draft Potential

Germie Bernard has been Ty Simpson’s favorite target amidst the latter’s monumental rise in the 2026 NFL Draft — and in the process, Bernard himself has risen up the board. Through seven games, Bernard has 51 catches for 700 yards and six touchdowns. His 77.7 PFSN CFB WRi score is above the 75th percentile among qualifying WRs, and per TruMedia, he’s averaging 6.4 yards after catch per reception.

What you see is what you get with Bernard. The former Michigan State transfer doesn’t quite have elite speed or explosion, but at 6’1″, 209 pounds, he’s a well-built three-level threat with a skill set tailor-made for the professional level. Bernard has a working release package and an excellent feel for tempo, depth, and spacing against zone. He’s fearless working over the middle of the field, and he has the strong hands to convert on anticipatory darts from his QB.

Bernard is nuanced as a separator and strong at the catch point, but as evidenced by his RAC metrics, his ability after the catch is where he stands to potentially elevate himself. With his hyper-dense frame, he has high-level contact balance and play strength as a ball carrier, and while his testing numbers won’t break the meter, he has more than enough explosiveness and agility to make use of seams and get upfield.

As a bonus beyond his well-rounded receiving profile, Bernard also provides value as an elite run blocker. He’s incredibly willing with stellar play strength and technique, and his ability on the boundary does a great deal toward springing outside runs. He may never be a WR1, but as a high-quality WR2 or WR3, Bernard will have a steady role in an NFL offense.

In his purest form, Bernard is a clutch chain-mover and contested converter with savvy separation skills, and he has the RAC ability to be weaponized on designed touches as well. He’s more of a zone-beater than a man-beater as a route runner, but can nonetheless work over the middle of the field and sear underneath safeties on crossers, before getting upfield for additional RAC. The upside is a bit siloed with Bernard, but as a quality complementary presence, he has a lot of appeal in the mid-Day 2 range.

As of the latest update, Bernard is my 67th-ranked overall prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft — a ranking that adequately conveys his valuation. He shouldn’t command Round 1 capital, but there’s a definite place for him in an NFL rotation with his reliability and universal utility.

Where Is Bernard Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Bernard currently holds the No. 50 overall rank among prospects, positioning him as a Day 2 prospect. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 54.5 as of December 6 reflects that he is typically being selected in the second or third round.

This small gap between rank and ADP suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.

Users controlling the Atlanta Falcons have been the team that selected Bernard the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.4% of their picks across all seven rounds.
