Former Colorado QB Puts Shedeur Sanders’ Accuracy Next to $275,000,000 NFL Star

College football analyst and former Colorado Buffaloes QB Joel Klatt has compared Shedeur Sanders’ accuracy to that of Cincinnati Bengals superstar QB Joe Burrow.

While discussing the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, Klatt explained how Sanders was his No. 1 QB available, over the likes of Miami Hurricanes’ Cam Ward and Ole Miss Rebels’ Jaxson Dart. He detailed how Sanders has elite accuracy and arm talent, something further exemplified when compared to some of the great CFB QB seasons in recent memory.

Joel Klatt’s Shedeur Sanders, Joe Burrow Comparison

Klatt highlighted the impressive completion percentage of Sanders this past season for the Buffaloes (74.0%). He then compared this value to that of Burrow’s in his historic 2019 campaign with the LSU Tigers, where the Bengals star QB had a 76.3% completion percentage.

Also highlighted by Klatt was Jacksonville Jaguars QB Mac Jones’ 2020 season with the Alabama Crimson Tide (77.4%) and Denver Broncos star Bo Nix’s 2023 year with the Oregon Ducks (77.4%).

Though Jones and Nix are solid NFL talents, being compared to Burrow is another level of stardom and something notable for Sanders. Since entering the NFL, Burrow has been one of the best quarterbacks in all of football and is someone that most college football players would love to be compared to.

“So why is he my number one quarterback? He has proven exactly what he needs to do at the next level. Raise the level of the entire organization, the entire team, the offense, everyone around him, he’s already done that. If you look at his numbers this last season in 2024, he was outstanding. 74%, that right up there with some of the great seasons in college football over the last decade.

Joe Burrow, in ’19, that historically great run to a National Championship, threw for 76%. So, Shedeur knows what he’s doing. He’s got great command of the offense and football in general,” Klatt stated.

Joe Burrow 2019 Campaign vs. Shedeur Sanders 2024 Season

In 2019, Burrow was simply unstoppable. He had 5,671 passing yards, 65 total touchdowns, only six interceptions, and a completion percentage of 76.3%.

That year, he went on to win the Heisman Trophy before eventually being selected No. 1 overall by the Bengals. Since arriving in the NFL, Burrow has been one of the best pocket passers and all-around players in the entire league.

Meanwhile, this year, Sanders had 4,134 passing yards, 41 total touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 74.0%. He won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, an honor Burrow also won in 2019, as the best upperclassman QB in the nation. In PFSN’s latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Sanders was selected No. 2 overall by the Cleveland Browns.
