Heading into Week 16 of the 2021 season, what information do we have on RB injuries, and how will they affect your fantasy football lineups? Which RBs do we expect to appear on the injury report this week? Check back all week for fantasy injury updates and reports on RB committees around the league.
Week 16 Fantasy Football RB Injury Report | AFC
The AFC is no stranger to RB injuries, and the number of players on the Week 15 injury report is starting to rack up.
Carlos Hyde, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars placed Carlos Hyde on the injured reserve due to a concussion. His season is over.
Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers
We still don’t know if Austin Ekeler has COVID-19. Wednesday’s practice will be revealing.
D’Onta Foreman, Tennessee Titans
D’Onta Foreman got in another limited practice Wednesday as he deals with a minor ankle issue.
He’s fine and will play Thursday.
Week 16 Fantasy Football RB Injury Update | NFC
Which NFC running backs are dealing with injuries that may affect their game status in Week 16?
Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Buccaneers are “likely” to place Leonard Fournette on the injured reserve after he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 15. Fournette, who was on crutches Sunday night, would miss the rest of the NFL regular season and the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

Tampa Bay signed Le’Veon Bell on Tuesday, adding to a depleted backfield that already lost Giovani Bernard to IR. Ronald Jones is expected to be the Bucs’ RB1 moving forward.
Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers
Aaron Jones recorded a limited session at Tuesday’s practice as the team manages his reps to be careful with his knee. He should be fine to play Saturday.
J.D. McKissic, Washington Football Team
On Tuesday, the Football Team placed J.D. McKissic on IR with a neck injury. He’s done for the season.
Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers
Elijah Mitchell did not practice again on Tuesday. It looks like we’re getting another heavy Jeff Wilson Jr. workload on Thursday night.
D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions
Jamaal Williams is back from the COVID list, but we do not have an update on D’Andre Swift this week. Williams will likely return to some sort of committee with Craig Reynolds if Swift is out again. If Swift does not practice Wednesday, I feel confident that he will not return this season.
