What kickers should you stream this week?

Here are two kickers to consider streaming in your Week 7 lineups.

Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins (vs. ATL)

It’s tough out there for all fantasy managers this week. We may not be able to find our ideal kicker streamer — a guy on a team that is favored, preferably at home, and playing in good weather. All we can do is try and check as many boxes as we can.

The Dolphins and Falcons are essentially in a pick ’em. At the very least, that means no projected negative game script for either team. Teams projected to lead are better, but competitive contests are fine too, as they leave field goals on the table as a scoring option.

Jason Sanders was one of the best kickers in the NFL in the 2020 season. He hasn’t been as productive this season as the Dolphins just haven’t been scoring as much.

The two weakest defenses the Dolphins have faced this season are the Raiders and Jaguars. In both of those games, Sanders attempted 3 field goals. The Falcons would definitely qualify as a weaker defense. Miami is at home and almost always gives us nice, warm weather. Sanders is a very reasonable kicker streamer in Week 7.

Nick Folk, New England Patriots (vs. NYJ)

Back in the days where fantasy managers would roster kickers just because the kickers were good and on the right offenses, there was a specific type of offense we targeted. We wanted good kickers on drive-and-stall offenses. The Joe Flacco Ravens were perfect for this. Good enough to move the ball into scoring position, but not good enough to score touchdowns.

The Patriots are the closest thing we have to that type of offense in the modern NFL. They play a slow-paced offense and want to run the ball. Bill Belichick is also one of the least aggressive coaches on fourth down.

Nick Folk made all 4 of his field goals last week and all 4 when the Patriots played the Jets in Week 2. This is a perfect matchup where the Patriots can control the game and play their brand of football.

New England is at home as touchdown favorites over the 1-win Jets. We’ve got a projected positive game script for a home team playing in good weather. It’s everything we could ask for. Folk is a great Week 7 streamer.
