Fantasy Football Injury Report: WR update

How are the fantasy-relevant wide receivers dealing with injuries? Let’s see which pass catchers may require a Plan B for Week 18’s action.

Nelson Agholor and Jakobi Meyers | New England Patriots

Nelson Agholor and Jakobi Meyers were limited at Wednesday’s practice. Agholor is in the concussion protocol but appears to be making progress. Meyers has been dealing with a thigh issue for a couple of weeks now, but he is going to play. Agholor appears on track, but we’ll need to see how he progresses the rest of the week. Neither is a fantasy option.

Robby Anderson | Carolina Panthers

Robby Anderson did not practice Wednesday due to a quad injury. Even if he plays, he is not a fantasy option with Sam Darnold or Cam Newton as his quarterback.

Braxton Berrios, Jamison Crowder, and Elijah Moore | New York Jets

Braxton Berrios missed Wednesday’s practice due to a quad issue. Head coach Robert Saleh said it’s not a big deal, so I’d expect him to play Sunday.

Jamison Crowder returned to practice, and Elijah Moore worked on a side field. Saleh said the plan is for both to play this week. Crowder has been out with a calf issue and Moore a quad issue. If all three play, Moore is the preferred fantasy option.

Mike Evans | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans was limited at Wednesday’s practice with his ongoing hamstring strain. He played through it last week and should be fine to play again this week. Evans will be on the WR1 radar due to the team’s issues at wide receiver.

Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick | Denver Broncos

On Wednesday, the Broncos activated Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick from the reserve/COVID-19 list. They will both return to action on Saturday, but they’re off the fantasy radar because the Broncos’ passing game is a disaster.

Julio Jones | Tennessee Titans

Julio Jones was limited at Wednesday’s practice with his lingering hamstring strain. He should play Sunday but is well off the fantasy radar because age and injuries have eroded his abilities.

DK Metcalf | Seattle Seahawks

DK Metcalf was limited at Wednesday’s practice with his ongoing foot issue. He’s fine and will be a high WR2 against Arizona this week.

Rondale Moore | Arizona Cardinals

Rondale Moore was limited at Wednesday’s practice with an ankle issue. The early-week limited practice puts him on track to play, but he’s nothing more than the WR4 on this team and thus, not fantasy-relevant.

Curtis Samuel | Washington Football Team

Curtis Samuel did not practice Wednesday due to his lingering hamstring strain. He’s been hurt the vast majority of the season, and with just one week remaining, I cannot fathom he plays. Regardless, Samuel hasn’t been a fantasy option all season.

Darius Slayton and Kadarius Toney | New York Giants

Kadarius Toney was limited at Wednesday’s practice. He missed last week’s game with a shoulder issue. I’m not sure why the Giants would bring Toney back for one final meaningless game, but if they do, he’ll be receiving passes from Jake Fromm. He’s not on the fantasy radar.

Darius Slayton returned to a limited practice Wednesday as well. He’d been on the reserve/COVID-19 list and is also dealing with a shoulder injury. Like Toney, he is not fantasy-relevant even if he plays.

Tre’Quan Smith | New Orleans Saints

Tre’Quan Smith was limited at Wednesday’s practice with a chest issue that kept him out of last week’s game. The early-week limited session suggests he will be able to go in a must-win game against the Falcons this week. Smith is not a fantasy option.

Fantasy Football Injury Report: TE update

Are there any tight end injuries we need to be concerned about? The TE market is already thin, so your alternatives will likely be grim if you have a player on this injury report.

Jared Cook | Los Angeles Chargers

On Wednesday, the Chargers activated Jared Cook from the reserve/COVID-19 list. He will return to action Sunday night and is a viable TE2 streamer.

Zach Ertz | Arizona Cardinals

Zach Ertz has been limited for the better part of the past month with a hamstring strain. He’s fine and is a mid to low TE1 as usual.

Noah Fant | Denver Broncos

Noah Fant was limited at Wednesday’s practice with a quad issue. He is at no risk of missing Saturday’s game and can be deployed as a low TE1.

David Njoku | Cleveland Browns

David Njoku did not practice Wednesday due to a shoulder issue. He’s not on the fantasy radar regardless of his health.

James O’Shaughnessy | Jacksonville Jaguars

James O’Shaughnessy remained absent from practice Wednesday. He missed last week’s game with a hip issue. The missed practice suggests he will be out once again. Laquon Treadwell is the only Jaguar pass-catcher worth starting in fantasy.

Kyle Pitts and Hayden Hurst | Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts did not practice Wednesday. He pulled his hamstring last week and is not expected to play this week. Hayden Hurst will start (assuming he is activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list) but is not on the fantasy radar.

Ricky Seals-Jones | Washington Football Team

Ricky Seals-Jones remains in the concussion protocol and did not practice Wednesday. The DNP suggests he’s not going to play this week. Rookie John Bates will start and is a desperation TE2 streamer.

C.J. Uzomah | Cincinnati Bengals

C.J. Uzomah did not practice Wednesday with knee and hip issues. Given that Zac Taylor already announced he’ll be resting starters this week, I can’t imagine Uzomah plays. The Bengals offense — outside of Perine — will be one to avoid this week in fantasy.

Darren Waller | Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller finally returned to practice Wednesday, getting in a limited session. He is back from the reserve/COVID-19 list and appears set to return from his back and knee injuries this week. He’s an immediate TE1.
