Fantasy Defense Rankings and Streamers Week 6: Commanders, Bears, and Colts Are the Best We Can Do

Knowing which defenses to start in fantasy football can be critical to winning your matchups. This position, arguably more so than any other, is matchup-dependent on a weekly basis, and the best results can be obtained by being flexible with a streaming strategy. Here’s a look at our Week 6 fantasy defense rankings and the top options to stream this week.

Top Fantasy Defense Streamers in Week 6

By this point in the season, we have a pretty good idea of who the top defenses are and which offenses we want to target with our defense streamers. Here are my top fantasy defense streamers, all of which are rostered in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Washington Commanders (at CHI)

Week 6 is the most challenging week for defensive streamers thus far. We are going to be reaching a bit with admittedly less-than-ideal options, and the Commanders are one of them.

The Bears didn’t look terrible offensively against the Vikings. Justin Fields completed 15 of 21 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. It was his best game of the season.

With that said, Fields still has turned it over five times this season. He’s taken a total of 18 sacks, including at least two in every game. The Commanders just sacked Ryan Tannehill five times. They haven’t forced a turnover since Week 1, but they have 14 sacks on the season. You could do worse.

Chicago Bears (vs. WAS)

This is a game where you can reasonably stream both defenses. Carson Wentz is a sack-taking machine. Wentz has taken 19 of them in his past four games, and he’s also thrown an interception in all but one game this season.

The Bears have actually forced a turnover and recorded a sack in every game this season. Chicago may not necessarily have a ceiling, but they have a decent floor. In a challenging week, they are legitimately on the streaming radar.

Indianapolis Colts (vs. JAX)

Just when we thought Trevor Lawrence might be turning a corner, he reminds us he’s still a flawed prospect. Lawrence was downright awful against a weak Texans defense. He completed just 53% of his passes, throwing for 286 scoreless yards with two interceptions. This came one week after he lost four fumbles in a single game.

The Colts just held the Broncos to nine points while sacking Russell Wilson four times and intercepting him twice. They haven’t been particularly good otherwise, but, again, we’re doing the best we can with the options before us this week.

Lawrence is still making a lot of poor decisions and is prone to mistakes. The Colts are home looking to avenge their shutout loss in Jacksonville back in Week 2 and are a worthwhile defensive streamer.
