Hunter Shines on Defense as Colorado Blows Out Utah
The Buffaloes improved to 8-2 following a blowout 49-24 win over Utah, taking one step closer to realizing their aim of playing in the Big 12 Championship game this season while also making the case for the newly introduced 12-team College Playoff field.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a great game, passing for 340 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Meanwhile, his offensive weapon, Travis Hunter, who generally gets the most targets, fell behind in the mark, with Shedeur giving 10 receptions to LaJohntay Wester and six to Drelon Miller. However, when near the zone, the quarterback found Will Sheppard two times for touchdowns.
Hunter, who had five receptions for 55 yards, also registered one rushing touchdown. However, on defense, Travis Hunter had one interception and three solo tackles.
Two more games remain on Colorado schedule: next week against Kansas and finally the last league stage game against Oklahoma State. Travis Hunter would hope he performs on expected levels or else he could get out of favor for the coveted award.
