NFL Fans on Will Howard to Raiders Rumors

The Las Vegas Raiders have a lot to change in the offseason, with their quarterback position unsettled for the past few seasons.

QB Aidan O’Connell has been serviceable through some adverse conditions, but the Raiders definitely need a stronger signal-caller moving forward. Las Vegas has needs at cornerback, the offensive line, and defense as well, but without a cornerstone QB, the deficiencies at those other positions hold less relevance.

Now, rumors have linked Howard to Las Vegas, a team holding the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Fans reacted to the rumors on X, hoping for the best.

“This could be interesting. Let’s see how it plays out!” a fan said.

Some people referred to the top-ranked quarterbacks in the 2025 draft pool, Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, to build up Howard’s resume.

“Blows my mind how Howard isn’t ranked ahead of Ward and Sanders. He blew out 4 great teams littered with NFL talent, to win a Natty, with highest completion % in Buckeye history,” a fan chimed in.

“Due to his college football playoff resume- Will Howard is a good combine away from catapulting himself to QB3 in this draft class,” a fan wrote.

Former Buckeyes offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who has become the Raiders’ new OC, helped lead Howard to his best college season, where the QB threw for 4,010 yards and 35 touchdowns.

“I mean Chip Kelly should probably know a little about him haha,” a fan commented.

“Understandable he did just win a National Championship running the Chip Kelly Offense.” A fan echoed.

Meanwhile, some fans were skeptical about the idea, given how the Raiders have cycled through quarterbacks in the past few seasons, and were not convinced that Howard would be ready for the QB1 role right away.

“This is such a raiders move 😭😭😭,” a fan noted.

However, the 6’4″, 235-pound Howard also had 226 rushing yards on 105 carries for seven scores, so with some modest dual-threat skills, he could fit in with Raiders head coach Pete Carroll’s “run-first” approach.

Howard has great vision on the field, making it easy for him to find his receivers, and with his winning attitude, he’s proven capable of leading his team through a variety of game conditions.
