Where Did Egbuka Land in Our Most Recent NFL Mock Draft?

In Pro Football Network NFL Draft Analyst Ian Cummings’ latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Egbuka was selected No. 30 overall by the Buffalo Bills.

Here is what Cummings had to say about Egbuka going to the Bills:

“Some suspicions were confirmed by Keon Coleman’s slow start in Buffalo. Coleman is talented, but the Bills need a utility WR to take pressure off of their youth. Emeka Egbuka fits that profile to a tee with his age-defying nuance, awareness, and three-level ability.”

Egbuka’s Best Landing Spots in the NFL

Egbuka has had a solid career at Ohio State. In 2022, he was a 1,000-yard receiver (1,151) with 10 touchdown catches, so he is not a flash-in-the-pan player.

And he figures to be in demand at the 2025 NFL Draft by several teams that could use wide receiver help. Here are three potential landing spots for Egbuka in the NFL:

    Buffalo Bills

As Cummings mentioned, the Bills are still waiting for their rookie Coleman to pick it up this season, although the 49-yard touchdown catch he had in Week 5 sure helped. But the more depth Buffalo can provide for quarterback Josh Allen, the better.

    Baltimore Ravens

Zay Flowers is off to an excellent start for the Baltimore Ravens, with 34 receptions and 412 receiving yards. In addition, Rashod Bateman is averaging over 15 yards a reception (15.5) and has three touchdown catches on the season. But just like with the Bills, the more weapons you can provide for MVP Lamar Jackson at that position, the better off that team will be.

    Philadelphia Eagles

DeVonta Smith — 25 receptions, 301 yards — has been solid, but after that, no other Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver even has 10 catches on the season. The injury to A.J. Brown hasn’t helped nor has the deal for Jahan Dotson looked fruitful. Ultimately, the Eagles look like a team that could use depth at this position.

    Egbuka’s Scouting Report

Here is a portion of what Cummings had to say in his scouting report on Egbuka:

“Egbuka is one of the most exciting utility WRs to hit the circuit in recent years. And when you run Egbuka’s profile through the three-level threat framework, his physical tools and his projected versatility begin to shine.

“As an athlete, Egbuka is extremely explosive, fluid, and flexible, with more than enough vertical speed. He can sear and slice his way through zone coverage looks but also has the intentional movement, snappy suddenness, and spatial awareness to win against man coverage.

“With his high-end tools and his ability to blend into many different roles, Egbuka is no doubt a Round 1 prospect. How far he rises depends on whether he can stay healthy in 2024, and whether or not he can reach the next tier of consistency as a catcher.”

Emeka Egbuka’s 2024 Season Stats and Game Breakdown

Egbuka had arguably the best game of his career during the Oct. 5 win over Iowa. Egbuka finished with a career-high in both receptions (nine, tied for his career-high) and touchdown receptions (three) in the win over the Hawkeyes.

Here is how Egbuka has performed through the first six games of this season:

    Receptions: 40
    Receiving Yards: 526
    Yards per Reception: 13.15
    Touchdown Receptions: 6

Egbuka has caught a touchdown pass in four consecutive games, one game shy of the longest streak of his career (first four games of the 2022 season).

He has at least five receptions in each of his last four games, catching 26 passes and averaging 95.5 receiving yards per game over those last four games, with five touchdown catches. He already has more touchdown receptions (six) this season than all of last season (four).

    When Is Egbuka Playing Next?

Egbuka and the Ohio State Buckeyes will face the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are the Power Four team with the longest bowl drought, but they are now one win away from postseason play. Their reward? Dates with the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers and the 5-1 Ohio State Buckeyes. After being blown out in their first attempt to reach six wins, can the Cornhuskers rebound to upset the Buckeyes?
