DK Metcalf is one of the more unique wide receivers in the NFL. There are rumors that he’s on the trading block, and the potential landing spots are widely reported. But why would the Seattle Seahawks trade a 24-year-old athletic freak that already has a 1,300-yard season and two double-digit TD seasons? The only answer would be a crazy return for the 6-foot-3, 230-pound receiver.
DK Metcalf Rumors: Is WR on the trading block?
According to Pro Football Network reporter Aaron Wilson, league sources predict that Metcalf is expected to remain in Seattle as part of their long-term plan. He is in line for a second contract at some point should he continue to progress in his career.
However, there is sincere interest from other teams around the NFL, including the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers, per sources. Still, no one is anticipating a blockbuster deal to get him to leave the Pacific Northwest.
Metcalf’s potential landing spots
There shouldn’t be any contender that wouldn’t consider acquiring Metcalf. He puts a unique stress on defenses given his size and athletic ability. But there seems to be a favorite if the Seahawks would be willing to trade him. Losing Russell Wilson will be difficult on Metcalf, but unless he forces his way out, he probably stays.

Green Bay Packers
Despite being the team with the best odds aside from Seattle, this one feels far-fetched. Why would the Seahawks trade a 24-year-old inside the conference unless the Packers make a ridiculous offer? Why would Seattle risk seeing Metcalf in the playoffs for the next 6-10 seasons?
The need for a high-end weapon is there for the Packers, but the price doesn’t seem worthwhile.
New York Jets
From a schematic fit perspective, Metcalf may not be an ideal fit for New York. However, quarterback fit might be more critical for the Jets. Zach Wilson thrived at the college level, leveraging passes away from defenders in 50/50 situations. Metcalf’s downfield ability and strength at the catch point are a perfect match for Wilson.
Kansas City Chiefs
Any wide receiver landing spots or trade rumors will go through Kansas City. Wide receiver was already a need for the Chiefs before they traded Tyreek Hill, and it’s even more critical now that they’ve sent arguably the best receiver in the league away.
And what could be better for the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes than an athletic marvel who can outrun cornerbacks that he outweighs by 40 pounds? Metcalf would be a menace on busted plays where Mahomes creates out of structure.

the only reason why DK Metcalf is on the trading block is because Russell Wilson is gone the best place form DK Metcalf to go the Green Bay Packers or Kansas City Chiefs
I think a great place for Metcalf to end up is in Buffalo. You have arguably the best quarterback in the NFL with the strongest arm. He has the arm to hit Metcalf on the deep ball numerous times. Those two would be awesome together. Problem is Buffalo doesn’t have the cap money for any more big signings.
