DJ Moore Injury Update: Latest News Surrounding the Bears’ WR in Week 3

Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore went down late in the game versus the Colts. Here’s the latest on Chicago’s star WR in Week 3.

As the Chicago Bears looked to complete their comeback against the Colts in Week 3, they could be doing so without wide receiver DJ Moore for the last few minutes.

Moore, the Bears’ No. 1 receiving option with Keenan Allen out of the game, would be a huge blow to this Chicago offense that’s struggled throughout the first three weeks of the season.

    What Happened to D.J. Moore?

After colliding with a Colts cornerback on a slant in the middle of the field and taking a big hit to the lower body, Moore was slow to get up.

He was able to limp off the field under his own power, but for a struggling Bears offense without their No. 2 receiver in Allen, this looked to be a crucial injury to Chicago’s receiving group.

However, while it looked to be serious, Moore was back on the field after sitting on the sideline for a play.

In Week 3, Moore totaled a team-high seven receptions for 77 yards, including a hail mary attempt that fell just one yard shy of a huge touchdown.

This could be an injury that potentially lingers into next week, but the injury didn’t appear to be too serious, with Moore returning almost immediately.

D.J. Moore Injury Update & Fantasy Analysis

Moore and his fantasy managers have had a troublesome start to the season. The veteran WR entered Week 3 averaging just 44.5 receiving yards per game and, even in PPR formats, was under 10 fantasy points per game.

Things have been a little better in Week 3, and in general, it has been indicative of what might have been to come. Prior to the injury, Moore had 78 receiving yards on eight receptions. Just when things looked to be trending up for his value, this happens.

With Keenan Allen already out, this is a major blow to the offense, but should further elevate rookie WR Rome Odunze who had 112 yards and a touchdown this week.
