To absolutely nobody’s surprise, the Los Angeles Dodgers are on an absolute tear to start the MLB season, having gone 8-0 to kick off the 2025 campaign. Retired Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant is among those all aboard the hype train.

Dez Bryant Is All In on MLB In 2025
The Dodgers’ perfect season looked to be in jeopardy after they went down 5-0 to the Atlanta Braves in the first two innings of Wednesday night’s matchup. However, as good teams do, the reigning champions prevailed by scoring six straight runs, capped off by a Shohei Ohtani walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth.
“What a comeback!!!!” Bryant wrote on X, highlighting Ohtani’s winning swing.

To some, it might seem random for Bryant to be commenting publicly on baseball — but he’s in his fifth year of retirement and seems to enjoy spending his free time talking sports and interacting with fans on social media.
Specifically regarding MLB, Bryant issued a notice to his X followers last month, writing, “I will be attending a lot of baseball games this year,” atop a graphic of the 10 best hitting lineups in the league — with the Dodgers, of course, at the top.

As a native of Galveston, Texas, Bryant picked the wrong year to support his home-state team — the Houston Astros have stumbled to a 2-4 record so far.
But if he’s just enjoying the game as a fan, the Dodgers’ pursuit of a second straight World Series title should be a thrill to watch. They retained the core of last season’s championship run and added Japanese import, Roki Sasaki, who’s been dubbed by many as the signing of the summer for their pitching rotation. Pair that with a healthier Shohei Ohtani who may return to the mound, and the Dodgers are a certified super team.
Bryant has also been weighing in on other sports topics lately — including college basketball, sports betting, and his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, and their contract negotiations with All-Pro defender Micah Parsons.
Now TP. Micah arguably has one of the best agents in the game. Micah's love for the Cowboys is leveraged for Jerry to get an extremely reasonable deal to benefit the boys. Reacting to reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cut Parsons’ agent out of the negotiating process, Bryant wrote:
“Micah arguably has one of the best agents in the game. Micah’s love for the Cowboys is leveraged for Jerry to get an extremely reasonable deal to benefit the boys.”
“The only way I’ll accept anything Jerry is preaching is if he guarantees to go get star-studded players so they can have a chance at the big one at the end of the year,” he continued. “If not, he should break the bank and not negotiate what’s understood. Thirty-one other teams will be lined up to give [Parsons] what he wants.”
Luckily for Bryant, if he can’t stomach watching the Cowboys’ deal with Parsons go up in flames, he can always tune into MLB action nearly every night through October.
