Former NFL superstar Deion Sanders, also known as Prime Time, has been working hard to try to flip the script at the University of Colorado for the last few years. However, it hasn’t been easy. In 2024, though, the team has gotten off to a 3-1 start.

With every game an important one and the stakes high ahead of the team’s game against Baylor in Week 4, Sanders got the support of his family who showed out.

In Week 3, Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes took down in-state rival Colorado State by a convincing 28-9 score. One of his sons, Shedeur Sanders, the team’s quarterback, finished 36 of 49 passing for 210 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.

For the Baylor game in Week 4, though, Sanders’ daughter Shelomi and his ex-wife Pilar both showed up to the game. Shedeur once again made the start, while another one of his sons, Shilo, who also plays for the Buffaloes, watched while recovering from an injury.

Ahead of the game, Shelomi took to Instagram to share her hairstyle and all-white Colorado merchandise outfit, along with a gold chain.

Shelomi was also once at Colorado, playing for the women’s basketball team last season. She has since transferred to Alabama A&M, though, in a move that Deion Sanders was not happy about. She was also at Jackson State, where Sanders coached before Colorado.

While Shedeur and Shilo remain at Colorado, a big reason for Shelomi’s reason to leave Colorado was to leave the shadow of her father at Colorado as well as to earn more playtime. Initially, he had called her decision “stupid” to begin with,” but the two reached an understanding after some time.

“You know, he is my dad, and he’s also a coach, so I think that’s why he kind of just had a reaction like that. But we handled and discussed things behind closed doors, so it’s all good now,” said Shelomi.

How the elder Sanders got to Colorado is an interesting one. As a player, he registered 14 seasons in the NFL as a cornerback, becoming one of the best to ever play the sport.

Sanders was a one-time Defensive Player of the Year, six-time first-team All-Pro, two-time second-team All-Pro, and an eight-time Pro Bowler. He was also named to the NFL’s 1990s All-Decade Team and 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Sanders’ coaching career didn’t start immediately after retiring, though. It started in 2012 at Prime Prep before moving his way up the high school ranks. He finally became a college football head coach in 2020 when Jackson State hired him. During his three seasons there, he won the SWAC and SWAC East twice.

Ahead of the 2023 season, Colorado hired Sanders in a blockbuster move. While he hasn’t found much success yet with the Buffaloes, he’s been working with a team that was void of talent before he arrived.

Now, Colorado is competing every week and will have two top NFL picks in the 2025 NFL Draft — his son, Shedeur, and superstar Travis Hunter, who Sanders has said is basically another son to him.

While Shedeur is throwing the ball over the yard and is likely to be a top quarterback selection, Hunter is a do-it-all, two-way type of player.

Starting at both cornerback and wide receiver, Hunter is a superstar at both spots. Since being a five-star recruit out of high school, Hunter has always been one of the best players on every field he’s been on.
