New York Jets star wide receiver Davante Adams appeared to suffer an injury following a clutch first-down reception late in the third quarter against the Houston Texans on “Thursday Night Football.” Adams went down after being hit by Texans safety Eric Murray.
Here’s the latest on Adams’ injury status.
What Happened to Davante Adams?
Adams hauled in a 17-yard reception from Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers late in the third quarter against the Texans. After the catch, Adams was flipped in the air by Texans safety Murray along New York’s sideline.
Adams stayed on the ground following the hit. New York’s training staff immediately tended to Adams, as he appeared to hit his head on the ground after being airborne.

Adams went to the blue medical tent with an independent neurologist, per multiple reports. He was evaluated for a concussion and went to New York’s locker room.
However, Adams eventually was cleared to return and immediately made his presence known. He hauled in a 37-yard touchdown from Rodgers with 2:56 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Jets a two-possession lead.
New York held on for a 21-13 win, and Adams finished with seven catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. As of Friday morning, there wasn’t any reason to worry about Adams’ status for Week 10.
