The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 21-17 on Monday Night Football. With the win, they improved to 9-1 — the best record in football. The Chiefs, on the other hand, fell to 7-3.
Even with the best record in football and a win, some still aren’t buying that the Eagles are the best team in the NFL. Former NFL QB-turned-analyst Dan Orlovsky is one of them.
“I walk away from that game thinking the Chiefs are the better football team than the Eagles,” said Orlovsky.
Why Is Dan Orlovsky Critical of the Philadelphia Eagles?
According to Orlovsky, Kansas City outplayed Philadelphia. “The Chiefs completely outplayed them in so many areas,” he said.
“Except for Pat’s (Mahomes) INT, (Travis) Kelce’s fumble, and five drops. Which isn’t gonna happen often. I bank on them making those in the playoffs.”

The Chiefs scored zero points in the second half, continuing a season-long trend. Kansas City hasn’t scored points in the second half of their last three games and is last in the NFL in second-half points.
Philadelphia took the lead on a Jalen Hurts rushing touchdown with 6:23 remaining in the game. Kansas City would then receive two more opportunities with the football.
On 2nd-and-10 with 1:50 remaining, WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped a deep pass from QB Patrick Mahomes that would have given Kansas City the lead.

“I’m grateful, I’ll be better. And I appreciate the criticism and the support. God put this on me because he knew I could handle it. Gratitude for everything that comes with it,” said Valdes-Scantling on Twitter.
In the post-game press conference, Mahomes took the blame. “I could probably have thrown it a little bit shorter,” he said.
The Chiefs are in the midst of a battle for the AFC playoffs’ No. 1 seed. With the loss, they fell into second, while the Baltimore Ravens took the top spot. Kansas City will travel to Las Vegas in Week 12 for an important divisional matchup.
The Eagles, however, are in sole possession of the top seed in the NFC. They hold a one-game lead over Detroit, who stands at 8-2. Coming up next, Philly will have a home game against the Buffalo Bills.
