FRISCO, Texas —Â The Dallas Cowboys injury report for Wednesday has a new name added to it that is something to monitor closely this week.
Practice was not open to reporters today, but the practice report gave updates on guys to monitor throughout the week and who could be closer to returning for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
Dallas Cowboys Wednesday Attendance
WR Brandin Cooks
Brandin Cooks was added to the practice report on Wednesday with a knee issue. Mike McCarthy said that Cooks hurt his knee during the game, will try to do more at practice tomorrow, and did fine during today’s walkthrough.

When asked about his knee in the locker room, Cooks didn’t go into detail but did mention that he feels good.Â
S Donovan Wilson
Donovan Wilson is still on the rise to come back from a calf strain he suffered during the first day of training camp but did not participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough.
He was getting work with associate athletic trainer/director of rehabilitation Britt Brown all week on the sidelines last week.Â
McCarthy said Wilson had a big workout today and is “further ahead” of Tyler Smith right now.
OL Tyler Smith
After Smith did not play in Sunday’s game against the Giants with a hamstring injury, he did not participate during Wednesday’s practice either.
Smith popped up on the Cowboys’ injury report earlier last week as he was seen by reporters walking off the field to talk with athletic trainers about hamstring discomfort.
He underwent an MRI on his hamstring a week ago as well. Although he returned to the field last week and worked with Brown on the sidelines, the team ultimately decided not to play him against the Giants.
OT Tyron Smith
Tyron Smith popped up on the injury report last Thursday with an ankle injury but was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.
