Dallas Cowboys Injury Report: Rico Dowdle Questionable for Sunday’s Game

The Dallas Cowboys made a change to Rico Dowdle's projected game status ahead of Sunday's contest. Here's the latest on the team's injury updates.

The Dallas Cowboys hit the road for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers and updated a vital player’s game status to questionable.

Although the team has stayed relatively healthy, some changes have been made to the injury report that could impact Sunday’s game.

Dallas Cowboys Injury Report

This week’s official injury report and projected game status are as follows:

Questionable

  • Rico Dowdle (ankle)

Fully participated in practice on Friday

  • KaVontae Turpin (shoulder)
  • Jourdan Lewis (neck)
  • Osa Odighizuwa (hamstring)
  • Jalen Tolbert (knee)
  • Peyton Hendershot (ankle)

Placed on Injured Reserve

  • Viliami Fehoko (knee)

Fehoko was placed on IR with a knee injury, which cleared up a roster spot for the team to elevate linebacker Rashaan Evans to the 53-man roster now that Leighton Vander Esch is out for the rest of the season.

RB Rico Dowdle

Multiple reports stated that running back Rico Dowdle is now listed as questionable for Sunday.

Dowdle is dealing with an ankle injury that didn’t seem to be an issue, as he fully participated in practice all week.

During Thursday’s practice, he worked with Britt Brown on the resistance cords on the sidelines during the time allotted to the media.

If Dowdle can’t play on Sunday, Deuce Vaughn could be active in his place.

However, the team also has the option of elevating Malik Davis from the practice squad as well.

WR KaVontae Turpin

Turpin has been dealing with a shoulder injury for two weeks now but seems to be on track to return on Sunday.

The wide receiver fully participated in practice all week. Turpin was seen participating in stretches and taking punt returns on Thursday.

TE Peyton Hendershot

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys decided not to elevate Peyton Hendershot this week.

The tight end was placed on injured reserve in October after missing two games with an ankle injury but was designated for return this week.

He fully participated in practice all week and was seen during team stretches and working back into individual drills on Thursday.
