The Dallas Cowboys continue to prepare for Thursday’s game against the Washington Commanders on a short week. With the team having some prominent names come up on the injury report this week, what will determine their availability for the game?
Dallas Cowboys Injury Report
- Johnathan Hankins (NIR-Personal): Did not participate
- Peyton Hendershot (ankle): Fully participated
- CeeDee Lamb (ankle): Fully participated
- Osa Odighizuwa (hamstring): Fully participated
- Terence Steele (ankle): Fully participated
- KaVontae Turpin (shoulder): Fully participated
Doubtful:
- Jayron Kearse (back): Did not participate
Questionable:
- Rico Dowdle (ankle): Was a limited participant
WR CeeDee Lamb
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy gave an update Wednesday on CeeDee Lamb’s injury, saying he has participated in all of the team’s meetings and walkthroughs. The head coach added that Lamb is in “a limited mode” but doing well, and he’s looking for him to progress.
Lamb is dealing with an ankle injury that has not had McCarthy or general manager/owner Jerry Jones highly concerned this week. Tuesday morning, Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that he gives him “a thumbs up” at this moment.

S Jayron Kearse
Jayron Kearse is dealing with a back injury that has kept him from practicing all week. On Wednesday, McCarthy said the safety would need to participate in practice in order to play on Thursday.

If Kearse is unavailable for the game, Juanyeh Thomas would likely take more of a workload this week. Last week, Thomas played seven snaps against the Carolina Panthers and has 105 on the defense so far this season.
RB Rico Dowdle
Rico Dowdle has also yet to participate in practice all week. This is the second week Dowdle is dealing with an ankle injury he sustained in Week 10 against the New York Giants.
Although he fully participated in practice all last week, that hasn’t been the case this week. On Tuesday, Dowdle was seen working with Britt Brown on the sidelines, doing work with the resistance ropes.

If Dowdle can’t play on Thursday, it’s a good estimation that Deuce Vaughn could play in his absence.
