The Cowboys started their countdown to the regular season by working in the red zone with 7-on-7 drills. They practiced outside during this time as well.

Safeties Donovan Wilson and Sheldrick Redwine

During practice, safety Donovan Wilson, who has been dealing with a calf injury since the start of training camp, was getting work on resistance ropes on the sidelines.

In a press conference ahead of practice, head coach Mike McCarthy said he was not ready to answer on Wilson’s return, but he is “getting close.”

Safety Sheldrick Redwine, who is on the practice squad and dealing with a hamstring injury, was also getting work with Wilson on the resistance ropes.

DL Sam Williams

Defensive end Sam Williams was not dressed for practice and did not participate in the portion open to the media. Williams is dealing with turf toe, and there is no update on his status come Sunday.

OL Tyler Smith
