Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Unleashes Fiery Criticism Against Giants for Letting ‘Generational Talent’ Saquon Barkley Walk in Free Agency

    Published on

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons voices support for Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley amid Daniel Jones release in New York.

The NFL world was taken by storm when the New York Giants announced that they had released Daniel Jones after playing for them for six years. Two years ago, the Giants, owned by John Mara, signed Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract extension while deciding not to extend running back Saquon Barkley.

That decision, however, has to hurt the Giants more now that Barkley has showcased his abilities in full force with the Philadelphia Eagles. Following the Eagles’ electric 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams, Barkley now has a league-leading 1,392 yards rushing on the year, and Philadelphia has a 9-2 record.

Cowboys’ LB Micah Parsons Expresses Frustration of Saquon Barkley Signing With Eagles

After Barkley’s electric display of abilities shown during the Rams showdown on Sunday, rushing for a career-high 255 yards along with two touchdowns and 302 total scrimmage yards, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons couldn’t hold back his thoughts on the Barkley-Giants situation.

Following the Eagles’ win, Parsons tweeted, “I don’t even gotta say it this week!!! Yall know wtf I’m talking there’s a team in the nfc east, who let a generation talent walk for free!!”

After being demoted to QB4 and eventually practicing as a defensive back, Jones gave a heartfelt speech before the official announcement that gave fans a hint at what was about to come.

While leaving a franchise after six years isn’t an easy task, Barkley has been in a similar situation with the Giants and has been a constant supporter of Jones.

“I’ve been in contact with him. Our friendship has stayed close throughout the whole process of me being here,” Barkley said. “It sucks to see how everything went down for him over there. I’ve got nothing but great things to say about him. You’re not going to find anybody that can say many negative things about him.

“It’s the NFL. Hopefully, wherever he ends up next, they’ll get a guy who comes in and works. It didn’t work for me, and I’m doing well here. Hopefully, he can find the same fresh start and success.”

The Eagles will now play the Baltimore Ravens in a thrilling NFC vs. AFC showdown in Week 13.
