‘Weird as Hell’ – Coach Prime’s Son Deion Jr. Fires Bold Shots at the Oregon Duck Over Comments on Travis Hunter-Ashton Jeanty Heisman Clash

Heisman voters are counting down the hours -- meanwhile, Deion Sanders Jr. responded to the Oregon Duck's comments on Travis Hunter's chances.

Heisman Trophy voters are counting down the hours, and Coach Prime’s star wide receiver, Travis Hunter, is the odds-on favorite to win the award. Hunter’s incredible performance on both ends of the ball helped the Buffs improve from a 4-8 record last season to a 9-3 record this year.

Meanwhile, Ashton Jeanty, who confirmed on Thursday that he will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, is a close favorite to win the award as well. He is the country’s leading rusher with 2,288 yards on 312 carries, along with 28 touchdowns. Boise State’s only loss came against the Oregon Ducks in Week 2 with the final score of 37-34 (the Ducks are unbeaten and ranked No. 1).

Coach Prime’s Son Unhappy With Oregon Duck’s Comments on Travis Hunter

With the voters due to submit their ballots by Monday, the upcoming championship games may sway their votes. Currently, oddsmakers have Hunter as their winner, but the 10th-ranked Boise State has a matchup against the 20th-ranked UNLV Rebels on Dec. 6, meaning Jeanty can turn the tide with one last performance.

Ahead of the contest on Pat McAffe’s eponymous show on Thursday, the Duck, Oregon’s mascot, made a remark about Hunter’s stats, writing on a dry eraser board:

“Snaps ain’t a stat though.”

Hunter has played 709 offensive snaps at wide receiver and 713 defensive snaps at cornerback, along with 21 special-teams snaps this season.

Deion Sanders Jr., Coach Prime’s oldest son, didn’t take kindly to the comment, retweeting the clip and saying:

“Yall are the #1 in the nation & yall whooped our ass last year… why tf is bro on there worried about us? S**t weird as hell.”

The two teams last met in September 2023, with the Ducks winning by a large margin of 42-6. This broke the Buffs’ season-opening three-game win streak and left the team shell-shocked.

PFN’s Mock Draft Analysis on Ashton Jeanty

With Jeanty announcing that this would be his last season at the college football level, he’s expected to be the first RB off the board. Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft has Jeanty going 13th overall to the Dallas Cowboys. The analysis notes:

“Ashton Jeanty is a dynamic three-down prospect who would instantly give Dallas’ offense an explosive element that the opposing defense must account for, making life easier on Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.”

Meanwhile, Hunter is projected to be picked at No. 4 by the New England Patriots.
