Cleveland Browns 2024 NFL Mock Draft: Browns Invest in Defensive Line Early With Michigan Man

The Cleveland Browns currently have just five picks in the 2024 NFL Draft after a slew of trades. How do they handle this 2024 NFL Mock Draft with their picks?

The Cleveland Browns had a roller coaster of a 2023 season that began with their starting quarterback getting hurt and a quarterback carousel ensuing during the season. Ultimately, it culminated in a playoff berth and Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Comeback Player of the Year Awards.

How do the Browns continue to boost their team in the NFL Draft to keep themselves in playoff contention?

Cleveland Browns 7-Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft

Round 2, Pick 54: Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

The Browns have yet to build a consistently dominant interior of their defensive line. As good as Myles Garrett is on the outside, the Browns have yet to find anyone to step up fully on the inside. Kris Jenkins is young and has the quickness and power to hold up as a consistent three-down force.

Round 3, Pick 85: Austin Booker, EDGE, Kansas

Alex Wright and Ogbo Okoronkwo are great depth rushers as well, but it’d be too hard to pass on Austin Booker here. He’s young and relatively inexperienced but has a better pass rush plan than expected and a tremendous NFL upside. His NFL Combine didn’t match his film, which might give teams pause, but his film is intriguing enough to be worth an early investment.

Round 5, Pick 155: Jalen Coker, WR, Holy Cross

The Browns just traded for Jerry Jeudy, dropping this need a tad bit, but all of Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, and Elijah Moore have just one year left on their deals. Ideally, early-round investments in Cedric Tillman and David Bell find their stride, but I don’t think the Browns would be this aggressive about these moves if they felt confident in that.

Round 6, Pick 205: Rasheen Ali, RB, Marshall

Cleveland simply needs to add more juice to their running back room. Nick Chubb will obviously return as the main guy, but that offense had little explosiveness to it when he was hurt. The Browns likely want to keep Chubb as fresh as they possibly can, so it is imperative they continue adding to their running back stable.

Round 7, Pick 243: Easton Gibbs, LB, Wyoming

A whopping five linebackers on the Browns’ roster hit free agency this offseason. They’ll likely find one more starter in free agency, but they need to restock their depth there. Gibbs is an instinctive and productive linebacker who can carve a role out on special teams and rotational duties.
