In the last three weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs have won with an offense putting up no more than 27 points.
It’s a much different sight than the offensive fireworks NFL fans, including those in the Chiefs Kingdom, have been used to. And against a struggling Denver Broncos defense that not long ago surrendered an astonishing 70 points, the Chiefs offense, now under the direction of offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, looked stagnant in their 19-8 home win on Thursday Night Football.
Members of the Chiefs Kingdom took to social media with this strong thought: Maybe the Chiefs do miss Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Fans React Strongly to Eric Bieniemy’s Missing Presence on the Chiefs Offense
On the night, the Broncos only allowed one touchdown. The rest of the night saw Denver force four field goals.
Members of the Chiefs Kingdom not only got critical of the offensive output, but there were numerous mentions of the two-time Super Bowl-winning offensive coordinator and how he’s missed.
“I’m ready to admit not having Eric Bieniemy is having an impact on our offense,” one Chiefs fan posted on X.
“Andy Reid is looking like an Eric Bieniemy merchant,” another fan shared on the social media site.
But again, one of the themes of the night in Chiefs Kingdom land was reminiscing about the days of Bieniemy.
“I’ll say it again: this team misses Eric Bieniemy badly,” one more fan shared.
Lastly, on the fan side, one more fan kept the theme of missing Bieniemy going and believed that this Chiefs offense suddenly “looks so janky.”
I miss Eric Bienemy. The offense has no tempo to it and looks so janky. #ChiefsKingdom

Even national media personality Nick Wright of Fox Sports 1 was critical of the performance of the Chiefs offense.
The Chiefs offense doing just enough win AND to make sure Vance Joseph still has his job as Broncos DC when they play again in 18 days.

What Has Happened to the Chiefs Offense?
The last time the Chiefs looked like their usual selves on offense, it was in front of Country/Pop sensation Taylor Swift in her first appearance in the Arrowhead Stadium suites.
That was during the last NFL Sunday in September.
Swift and the rest of the fans who watched the TNF game watched in boredom the latest K.C. offensive slump. Throughout October, the Chiefs have witnessed a stumble of rare proportions. What has happened?
For starters, Patrick Mahomes has suddenly become a multiple-interception passer. The two-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player has been intercepted three times this month — all after being picked off twice in September. And that includes his two-interception night against the New York Jets. That same Jets game may have witnessed 401 total offensive yards, but only 197 came through the air.
The following week, K.C. only mustered 67 rushing yards and allowed two sacks before escaping with the 27-20 road win over the Minnesota Vikings. This time versus Denver, the Chiefs looked inept on third downs, converting just four of 13 third-down tries. And again, Mahomes got sacked twice.

For the Chiefs, it’s become a new mistake each week. The striking part is that the mistakes have been on offense for an offensive-minded juggernaut. And now, even at 5-1 overall, the feeling is that Bieniemy truly is missed in the kingdom.
Mahomes, though, sent this message to Chiefs fans during the postgame of Amazon’s TNF: “We’ll get this offense figured out.”
