Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills NFL Weather Report: Will We See More Snow in Buffalo?

What is the current NFL weather report for the Chiefs vs. Bills game on Sunday, and how could it impact the fantasy options on show in the game?

The weather in Buffalo has been the center of attention for the last couple of weeks, with a lot of snow falling in the area around Highmark Stadium. With pictures coming out of Buffalo this week of more heavy snowfall and volunteers working at all hours to clear snow, what is the latest weather forecast for the game itself?

Let’s examine the NFL weather report for the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game and see whether the forecast could cause a problem during the game.

What Is the Buffalo Weather Forecast for the Chiefs vs. Bills Game?

  • Temperature: 2223 degrees
  • Precipitation: 20% chance of snow during the game
  • Wind: 12-15 mph sustained westerly winds

The weather forecast is from the National Weather Service and correct as of 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The current weather forecast does have a small chance of snowfall during the game, but the amount should be minimal. That is assuming there is snow at all, with chances of precipitation low during the game. That is the same in the hours leading up to the game, meaning we should not see similar scenes to last week.

After the weather forced the game to be moved last week, Mother Nature is playing nice for the Divisional Round. Things will still be pretty cold, with temperatures below freezing point and wind chill making it feel like 10 degrees in places.

However, the wind itself is not likely to be an issue either. Sustained winds above 10 mph can have a minor impact on the outcome of a game, but it is minimal.

We do not start to see an impact from wind until it crosses that 20 mph region. Therefore, we should not see much impact from the weather on the passing or kicking games in this one.

That is great news for anyone looking at DFS options in this game. Both passing games should be able to operate efficiently, which is great news for the value of both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. That is also good news for the main pass-catching options, such as Stefon Diggs, Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, and Dalton Kincaid.

We should still see plenty of James Cook and Isiah Pacheco, with freezing temperatures still tending to suit the run game. Pacheco remains the top fantasy option in this game, with Rice a close second. The Chiefs and fantasy managers will also be hoping we see Kelce back in the end zone.

For the Bills, there is no Gabe Davis once again, which should be good news for the likes of Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield.

Both should see additional opportunities with Davis out, with Shakir carrying the most fantasy value of the two. Sherfield tends to play more snaps with Daivs out but has not turned that into consistent fantasy value.

If you are betting on this game, the weather should not change your outlook. This game is a really hard one to get a read on because both defenses have been good this season, but both offenses are capable of turning it into a shootout. Thankfully, the weather should not stop this from being a very entertaining matchup in Buffalo this week.
