Both the Raiders and Steelers come into this Sunday Night Football matchup with a win on the board, but those wins didn’t come easy. Bolstered by the defense in Week 1, Las Vegas grounded out a tough 17-16 divisional win over the Denver Broncos. However, the floor got pulled out from underneath them in Week 2 as Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen carved up the Raiders defense as the black and silver lost 38-10.

Thankfully for Las Vegas, Pittsburgh is also having an identity crisis on offense. However, the Week 3 matchup could be what the Raiders need to jumpstart the offense. WR Davante Adams has hauled in 12 of his 17 targets for 150 yards and a touchdown through two weeks.
However, those numbers got a boost when WR Jakobi Meyers had to sit out Week 2 after catching nine passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns against Denver. Meyers returns tonight after a one-week absence, but the Raiders need to take advantage of some holes in the Steelers’ defense to establish long-term offensive momentum, especially in the passing game.
Pittsburgh has allowed 32 receiving touchdowns since the start of 2022 — second worst in the league. Las Vegas WRs have hauled in 24 touchdowns in the same span, tied for the third most. That number is heavily fueled by Adams, who has 15 himself. Additionally, the Steelers have allowed 14.3 yards per reception, also second worst in the league.
QB Jimmy Garoppolo and the Raiders’ passing offense have the perfect opportunity to rev things up, especially against an offense that excels against the run. Las Vegas went 0-7 last season when scoring less than 22 points. With both offenses struggling to get on the board, can the Raiders finally find a breakthrough this week?
