5 Transfer Portal Landing Spots for Dylan Raiola After Rumors Emerge Surrounding QB’s Future

With Dylan Raiola expected to hit the transfer portal, where could the former Cornhusker end up for the 2026 college football season?

Change is on the horizon for the Cornhuskers. Last week, Nebraska’s head coach, Matt Rhule, fired offensive line coach Donavan Raiola, the uncle of QB Dylan Raiola. Now, rumors have surfaced that Raiola will officially be entering the transfer portal, as reported by On3’s Pete Nakos.

With this in perspective, where could the soon-to-be 6-foot-3 junior gunslinger find himself next season?

Texas Tech

It’s no secret who Dylan caters his playstyle after, even his on-field gear, it’s all in ode to former Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes. So what better way to pay tribute than to take over at his alma mater next season, joining the Red Raiders?

Current QB Behren Morton is a senior, and after this season, Texas Tech’s QB room will be significantly less talented compared to someone of Dylan’s caliber. This move would likely come as no surprise to anyone.

Oklahoma State

With head coach Eric Morris taking over at Oklahoma State following his success at North Texas, perhaps a clean slate with a talented offensive mind entices Dylan to move into a Cowboys uniform.

Dylan’s live arm and athleticism will need a playcaller of Morris’ aptitude to thrive next season, especially after falling off a major hype train coming into his sophomore campaign. Whether the Pokes have NIL for Raiola will be the bigger question, but if he wants to play for a great coach, on a reviving program, then Oklahoma State is not out of the question.

LSU

The Tigers will be under new control as Lane Kiffin heads for the Bayou as the new LSU head coach. Now, the million-dollar question is, who will be Kiffin’s quarterback for the 2026 season? Well, if controversy loves company, then perhaps Kiffin inquires about Dylan being the new quarterback for the LSU Tigers.

Both Kiffin and Raiola will be looking to prove college football fans wrong next season, so why not do it together? The playstyle Kiffin prefers is right up Raiola’s alley and could also make the current Huskers QB a solid NFL Draft prospect.

Miami

An open job, NIL opportunities, and a chance to play in the ACC? What more could Dylan ask for if Miami were to give the young quarterback a call? Playing for Mario Cristobal could do wonders for Raiola’s development as a quarterback, not to mention the incredible talent that will surround him.

Carson Beck will be heading for the NFL draft following this college football playoff run in Miami, and with an open role to fill, perhaps Coach Cristobal is intrigued by bringing in a live arm like Raiola’s.

Missouri

For hypothetical reasons, let’s say no big program wants to take a shot on Raiola and his antics next season. Well, what if the Missouri Tigers entice the young QB to join the SEC and replace Beau Pribula next season?

Raiola will need a new team, and Mizzou will need a new quarterback. While there may be different options available, not many possess the arm talent that Raiola has, which sets him apart if he were to enter the transfer portal.
