Joe Brady was born in 1989 in Pembroke Pines, Fla.; he began his football journey at William & Mary, where he played as a wide receiver. Although his playing career was modest, Brady’s passion for the game led him to coaching, where he began his rise through the ranks.
Brady began his NFL coaching career as an offensive assistant under Sean Payton with the New Orleans Saints in 2017.
In 2019, Brady joined the LSU Tigers as the passing game coordinator and quarterback coach. He gained national recognition during his time at LSU. Under his guidance, LSU’s offense became one of the most prolific in college football history, leading to a national championship and Heisman Trophy for quarterback Joe Burrow.
Brady’s innovative offensive schemes and ability to maximize Burrow’s talents were key factors in LSU’s historic season. Recognized as the top assistant coach during the 2019 college football season, Brady was honored with the 24th annual Broyles Award.

In Feb. 2022, Joe Brady was hired by Buffalo as the quarterbacks coach. He remained in this position until 2023, until the Bills made some coaching changes mid-season after starting with a disappointing 5-5 record.

Brady was then appointed as the interim offensive coordinator for Buffalo. Under Brady, the Bills won six of their final seven games to finish with an 11–6 record and their fourth consecutive AFC title.
