Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios faced an unfortunate injury during the matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 20.
Berrios tore his ACL during the game, which resulted in ending his season early as he was in need of surgery, followed by an extensive rehab period.
Berrios, Earle Reflect After Braxton’s Surgery
While it is a tough pill for any athlete to swallow, Berrios is lucky enough to have his lady luck and Alix Earle’s support throughout the process.
The model-turned-influencer updated fans on the wide receiver’s journey through the surgery. She first captured Berrios as he came out of the surgery room with a wide smile and wrote, “Here’s to a successful surgery & now onto recovery! And always with a smile on his face.”
In the next story she posted, the two were seen holding hands as Earle provided the warmth and support Berrios must need during this time.
While announcing the heartbreaking news, Berrios also wrote an emotional message for the fans: “I am absolutely heartbroken. Due to an injury yesterday, my season is over. The road ahead is measured in months and not days, but I find comfort in knowing I’ve been here before.
“If you’re lucky like me, adversity has become a close friend. It means you’re chasing something not easily attainable, and you’ve persevered through all the failures and setbacks. There’s pain along the way, but what’s on the other side makes it all worth it.
“Initially, all I wanted to do was play the victim and question everything, but I knew God, and he made no mistakes. After the dust settles, each day’s choice will be pretty straightforward: Have this be a part of my story or the end of it. Like Kobe once said, ‘If you see me in a fight with a bear, pray for the bear.'”
Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios’ Relationship Timeline
The duo’s relationship got off to a rough start, with Berrios’ ex, Sophia Culpo, claiming that the Miami WR cheated on her with Earle.
During a Q&A on one of her Instagram stories, Culpo wrote, “The betrayal in my last relationship just really took a toll on me, but I have the most amazing support system,” she said, per Seventeen.
She continued, “I don’t wish what I went through on anybody … Us girls gotta stick together, and one day, I will share all the lessons that I’ve learned.”
Berrios denied any allegations and said that it was a good relationship that’s now over for other reasons.
In July 2023, the couple made their first official appearance together as they walked the ESPYS red carpet. Berrios donned a pink suit, and Earle wore a long black leather dress.
In November 2023, Earle confessed about her relationship with the “NFL man” on a podcast called “Call Her Daddy.”
The couple have been enjoying their time together ever since, with Earle attending most Dolphins games wearing stylish game-day-inspired outfits.
