Miami Dolphins wide receiver Braxton Berrios was injured in the Week 7 clash against the Indianapolis Colts. It was later revealed that he had torn his ACL, and his season was over.
While his surgery was successful, Berrios’ girlfriend, Alix Earle, recently revealed that a prank scared her regarding his injury.
Alix Earle’s Prank Leads to Braxton Berrios’ ACL Scare for Her
In the latest episode of her podcast “Hot Mess,” Earle was joined by Berrios. The couple started narrating a prank that left them both scared despite starting out as an innocent joke.
“He jumped, and he went to run because I was a scary imposter in the house,” said Earle. “And obviously, he can’t run on that leg. So, he did a little limp, and I realized what I had done.”
“Then I go down, and I know she feels bad, and I know she meant it out of the goodness of her heart, but I’m not happy at the moment,” Berrios added. Later in the podcast, Earle narrated the incident leading to Berrios lying on the floor.
“I said, ‘Boo,’ and I immediately saw the reaction on his face right away,” she said. “And he got so scared. And I was like, ‘Oh my God, yes, I finally did it.’ And then he limped a little, and then dropped to the floor and was silent.
“So, it was me laughing. And then I realized what I had done, and I didn’t really know what I had done, and I was like, ‘Did I just rip his ACL again?’”
Earle Has Taken Up Nursing Duties for Berrios
Earle is a popular TikTok user and has also been named in Forbes’ 30 under 30 list for 2023. However, with her boyfriend nursing an ACL injury, the 23-year-old social media star has turned to being a nurse for him.
“I’m feeling pretty tired today,” Earle said on her podcast earlier this month. “I haven’t been getting much sleep because I’ve been helping Braxton in the middle of the night because I’m being a nurse right now.
“So, like, making sure he’s taking his medicine, changing his ice machine, and I’m like, I don’t even know what sleep schedule I’m on. But it’s a terrible one.”
