It is a high point for Smoke and Nix, who have come a long way together from Oregon to Denver in a matter of a few months. Meanwhile, the NFL WAG has shown her support for Bo’s NFL journey. However, even before Nix grabbed the starting job, Smoke was overjoyed when he was drafted No. 12 overall by the Broncos in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As the former Oregon QB’s biggest supporter, Smoke has been by Nix’s side since their days at Auburn, where he was the star quarterback, and she was a cheerleader.

Their story, which feels straight out of a rom-com, continues to capture the hearts of fans as they soon will step into the NFL regular season. With such strong support from his wife and a promising start with the Broncos, Nix’s journey is one to watch closely this season.

Smoke was over the moon about her husband being named the Broncos’ starting quarterback. When the big news dropped, Smoke couldn’t help but gush on social media. On Aug. 21, she took to Instagram to celebrate Nix’s milestone, sharing a post from the NFL’s official account with a heartfelt caption.

She wrote, “So proud of him.”

Nix’s selection came after a standout performance in the preseason. In his game against the Green Bay Packers, he dazzled by completing 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton also had high regard for Nix, as he noted his impressive show over veterans like Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson.

“I felt like, and I said this to you guys two weeks ago, that room has been outstanding,” Payton said, laying out the tough decision to name Nix as the starter.

As Nix prepares for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 8, Smoke’s presence to support him is expected.
