The Los Angeles Rams drafted running back Blake Corum in the third round (No. 83 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. Prior to that, Corum starred for the Michigan Wolverines and played a huge role in their 2023 National Championship run.

Here is everything you need to know about Corum and his football journey.

    How Tall Is Blake Corum?

Corum measured 5’8″at the NFL Combine, which puts him in the eighth percentile compared to other NFL running backs.

Fortunately, an RB’s height isn’t the most important thing when projecting how successful they’ll be in the league. Corum is certainly a smaller back, and he has 9” hands and 28 7/8” arms.

    How Much Does Corum Weigh?

Corum weighs 205 pounds, which is in the 27th percentile compared to his peers at the position.

It is far more important how a back carries that weight, which favors Corum when you take into consideration his 27 reps on the bench press at the NFL Combine (95th percentile) and his favorable elusiveness metrics at Michigan.

    How Old Is Corum?

Corum was born on November 25, 2000, meaning he’s 23 years old. He will turn 24 during the second half of his rookie season. He’s one of the oldest running backs in the 2024 rookie class, but this didn’t prevent the Rams from selecting him.

What School Did Corum Go To?

Corum played his high school football at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. Then, he spent the entirety of his four-year collegiate career at Michigan. Corum first joined the Wolverines during the COVID-19-shortened season in 2020.

    Revisiting Corum’s College Career

Corum’s college production got off to a bit of a slow start after seeing only 26 carries for 77 yards and two scores his freshman year in a crowded backfield alongside Hassan Haskins and Zach Charbonnet.

Charbonnet decided to transfer to UCLA ahead of the 2021 campaign, which led to a significantly expanded role for Corum heading into his sophomore season. He finished his second year with 1,093 total yards and 12 TDs on 168 total touches working alongside Haskins.

As a junior, Corum recorded 1,463 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns, but then he tore his meniscus and sprained his MCL in November.

Corums decided to return for his senior season, and he was unstoppable. He rushed for 1,245 yards and scored 28 total touchdowns (setting Michigan’s single-season record). He was the only FBS to score at least one touchdown in every game that season.

As previously mentioned, Corum led Michigan to the National Championship, and he earned National Championship Offensive MVP honors. He ended his collegiate career as the Wolverine’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (58), total touchdowns (61), and points scored).

    Corum’s NFL Outlook

The Rams were impressed with Corum’s production at the collegiate level, making him the third running back selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Corum joins a backfield that already features Kyren Williams, but head coach Sean McVay has made it clear that Corum will have a significant role as a rookie. Entering the 2024 NFL season, Corum is also Los Angeles’ starting punt returner.

Corum enters a great situation with the Rams, and McVay should be able to help him realize his full potential.
