The worst part of fantasy football is easily the injuries. In-game injuries are bad enough. This year, though, a slew of mid-week issues have popped up on the injury report. That is exactly what we have with Atlanta Falcons stud RB Bijan Robinson. What do we know about Robinson’s injury? Is he at risk of having to sit this week’s crucial divisional showdown against the New Orleans Saints?
What Is the Latest Injury Update for Bijan Robinson?
For the third consecutive week, several players who were perfectly healthy to start the week showed up on the injury report unexpectedly. So far, we’ve already seen A.J. Brown, George Kittle, Diontae Johnson, Nico Collins, and Davante Adams pop up with injuries sustained at practice (plus Evan Engram got hurt in pre-game warmups).
Now, add Robinson to the list.
Through three weeks, Robinson has been the clear RB1 for the Falcons, as expected. Tyler Allgeier has mixed in but nowhere near as much as last season. The one complaint fantasy managers have is Robinson has only scored once. There will be many more to come.

The only thing that could really derail Robinson’s breakout season is an injury. Well, after not appearing on the practice report on Wednesday, Robinson’s name showed up on Thursday. He is dealing with a shoulder issue.
Robinson was limited, which is better than not practicing at all. However, a limited designation isn’t the same positive sign it would be if Robinson had a preexisting injury. This means that whatever is ailing Robinson happened at practice.
Fortunately, Robinson was a full participant in practice on Friday and is now off the injury report altogether, so he’s good to go for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Outlook
Some players just pop off the screen, and Robinson is certainly one of them. It’s a treat to watch him in space, and I expect we see more of that as this offensive unit gels.
Robinson is among the very elite players at his position and his value should only continue to rise as Kirk Cousins settles in and the Falcons’ offense gets going.
Over the first three weeks, Robinson had a few chances to score but only got into the end zone once, which is something that I expect to change as the season progresses.
Robinson is deserving of the Tier 1 price tag you paid this summer, and he’s being utilized way more than we saw last season when he was in a 50/50 split with Allgeier.
Week 4 could be Robinson’s coming-out party, as he had no issues with the New Orleans last season, clearing 120 yards from scrimmage in both meetings, scoring three times, and earning 14 targets in the process.
Robinson is matchup-proof and worthy of DFS consideration every single time he steps onto a football field. He’s my RB2 this week and rest-of-season, trailing only Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley.
As for Allgeier, he has value as a handcuff, but it seems unlikely that he will ever hold stand-alone value barring an injury to Robinson. The six red-zone touches that Allgeier has received are nice, but with a sub-23% snap rate in all three contests this season, there simply isn’t a path to Flex value in even the deepest of leagues.
