Who Are the Chiefs’ Top Fantasy Players?
QB Patrick Mahomes
While the lack of consistent pass-catching help didn’t stop the Chiefs from repeating as NFL champions, it certainly frustrated managers who invested draft capital in Mahomes. His 27 touchdown passes were 10 fewer than any of the three seasons prior, and his 7.0 yards per attempt were a career low.
Kansas City managed to win a title despite the lack of support for their future Hall of Famer, but their offseason actions suggest that the Chiefs are aware of the weight it put on Mahomes’ shoulders. The Chiefs made Xavier Worthy (75-1,014-5 at Texas last season) the 28th pick of the NFL Draft and inked Hollywood Brown (91-1,008-6 in 2021 with the Baltimore Ravens).

TE Travis Kelce
For the first time since 2015, Kelce failed to top 1,000 receiving yards in a season, though he did intentionally miss the final game after the Chiefs clinched a playoff spot. Kelce’s production decline is notable, especially as he turns 35 this year, an age where few TEs have maintained elite production.
Despite the decline, Kelce’s usage still ranks among the elite at the TE position. He finished 2023 with 121 targets (fourth), a 22.7% target share (third), 93 receptions (third), 984 yards (second), and 469 YAC (fourth). However, his five receiving touchdowns were the lowest since 2019.

RB Isiah Pacheco
Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco is described by many as the angriest runner in the NFL, and it’s hard to argue. While his physical running style is his calling card, the pride of Rutgers displayed the type of versatility in 2023 that could make Pacheco a top-10 running back in fantasy football sooner than later.
Without much in the way of competition for touches in Kansas City’s backfield, an RB1 season is very much in the range of outcomes for Pacheco.
