Austin Ekeler, after an explosive kick return to start the second half of the “Monday Night Football” contest between the Washington Commanders and Cincinnati Bengals, seems to have sustained an injury and was not seen for the rest of the first drive in the second half.
What Happened to Austin Ekeler?
Ekeler has been ruled out and will not return to tonight’s action. After bringing the Commanders great starting position during the kick return, Ekeler was not involved in the second-half opening drive. With the emphasis placed on the NFL to be more cautious during concussions, this will end his night.

Fantasy Impact of Ekeler’s Injury
With Ekeler out, we should expect more work-horse volume for Brian Robinson Jr. He has been the lead back tonight for the Commanders. With the Commanders surprising the world with the lead, we could see Washington lean into the run and utilize its young running back to eat the clock.
Robinson has already seen 13 rushing attempts and could easily climb over 20 rushing attempts by the end of the night. Without Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols could be used sparingly throughout the game.
Robinson should see a significant rise in the Consensus Rankings for Week 4.
