The Super Bowl is a global event as fans from all across the country and the world travel every year to watch the biggest game in the NFL. This year, the Super Bowl is in Las Vegas, and the game will be played at the Las Vegas Raiders‘ stadium, Allegiant Stadium.

While Las Vegas will have tons of visitors in the city during Super Bowl weekend, how many of those people will actually be able to be in the stadium?

What Is the Capacity of Allegiant Stadium?

Allegiant Stadium opened in 2020 and has a capacity of 65,000. The seating is expendable, potentially fitting 72,000 people, but the stadium hasn’t seen that many fans at an event thus far.

The most attended event thus far in the history of Allegiant Stadium was the Raiders’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. During that game, there were 58,964 fans. An interesting note is that 64% of the people who attended that game were “out-of-town” attendees.

In 2022, Notre Dame and BYU played in Las Vegas, with 55,996 fans in attendance, and a BTS concert in 2022 brought in 51,664 fans.

Popularity of City Makes for Appealing Destination for Opposing Sports Fans

Las Vegas is obviously a destination spot for people across the country to go spend a weekend and get away for a few days. Now, with the opportunity to potentially see your favorite team play there, it is really a no-brainer.

In that Notre Dame and BYU game in 2022, a staggering 48,716 of the nearly 56,000 fans came from out of town. That is 87% of the fans who weren’t from Las Vegas.

For many years, Las Vegas has long been considered the fight capital of the world. Many of the biggest UFC fights and boxing matches have taken place in the city.
