The father-son duo of Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders fired up NFL insider Adam Schefter on ESPN’s “Get Up,” dropping a prediction for the Colorado Buffaloes head coach and quarterback.
Adam Schefter Sees Father-Son Duo in NFL As Possibility
Schefter hinted that we could see the father/son duo make their NFL debut together — an idea that fans and analysts are buzzing about.
“Every single team in the top 10. You’re talking quarterback… Shedeur and Deion with the Jets. Heck yeah. I would, of course. I would love to see that,” Schefter mused, envisioning potential landing spots.
Fellow analyst Dan Orlovsky joined Schefter in the discussion. He listed teams he thought could be contenders for Shedeur and suggested hiring Coach Prime to guide his son at the pro level.
“There’s not going to be a top team there. But here’s the thing, there’s going to be teams – the Jets, the Giants, the Saints, the Raiders, the Jaguars, the Browns, the Carolina Panthers,” Orlovsky stated.
“The point is that this is just going to be an option that’s out there. We’re not saying it’s happening. We’re saying that this is one of those options that’s going to heat up,” Schefter said. He didn’t mean it as a done deal, but the speculation ran wild on the internet as fans and analysts imagined a world with Deion Sanders back in the NFL.

While some fans welcomed the idea, many others were not so easily convinced. “Any team that does that is making the worst move in their franchise’s history,” one X user declared.
Another user reminded fans that Coach Prime himself addressed this rumor on Fox Sports’ Speak, insisting he’s not leaving Colorado anytime soon. “I know you guys don’t know what’s going on outside your ESPN bubble, but Prime already shot this down on Speak,” the fan tweeted.
I know you guys don't know what's going on outside your ESPN bubble, but Prime was already on @SpeakOnFS1 talking about this! He's not leaving for the NFL & he's controlling where Travis and Shadeur goes…https://t.co/opVQDusOi9

“This is madness,” tweeted another disappointed fan.
“But, why?” wrote another.
There’s no denying the impact of Deion and Shedeur on the Colorado Buffaloes. Their partnership has led the Buffs to one of the best seasons (7-2) in recent memory. In doing so, Shedeur’s quickly risen as a top prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, at least for now, Coach Prime’s recruiting success and the hopes of the Buffs’ Big 12 title and even national championship keep him firmly rooted in college football. With teams like the Jets, Giants, and Raiders likely eyeing both a new quarterback and possibly a new coach, one can say that Scehfter’s theory isn’t entirely far-fetched.
Coach Prime and Shedeur remain laser-focused on Colorado’s current season. However, with the NFL Draft in April and head coaching positions likely up for grabs, the possibility of the Sanders duo entering the NFL together—whether this year or in the future—continues to keep the football world guessing.
