When the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, they’ll do so with a new head coach and a banged-up quarterback.
We know Jeff Ulbrich will roam the Jets sideline as interim head coach after Robert Saleh’s firing on Tuesday. But we don’t know what Aaron Rodgers will look like after suffering a leg injury for the second consecutive week.
Let’s go over everything we know about Rodgers’ situation, including his status for Week 6.

Aaron Rodgers Injury Update Week 6
Rodgers suffered a left ankle injury while getting his foot caught in a pile during the second half of last Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran quarterback, who was in obvious pain, limped off the field but didn’t miss a play.
Rodgers tweaked his left knee during New York’s Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos. However, after losing to the Vikings, Rodgers revealed he suffered a low ankle sprain, a diagnosis Saleh confirmed the next day.
“All the preliminary stuff says he’ll be fine,” Saleh said on Monday.

Saleh also said Rodgers “feels good.” So, at this point, there isn’t any reason to believe Rodgers won’t play in the Jets-Bills matchup.
Still, Rodgers also won’t be 100% for the pivotal AFC East clash. And even if he were fully healthy, he still wouldn’t belong in your fantasy lineup.
Fantasy Implications of Rodgers’ Injury
Tyrod Taylor would be first in line for QB reps if Rodgers can’t play on Monday or suffers another injury during the game. Neither quarterback should start for your fantasy team, though.
In the first five weeks, Rodgers completed 61% of his passes for 1,093 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with four interceptions. His 218.6 yards per game would rank as the second-lowest average for any of his seasons as a full-time starter.
Rodgers’ effectiveness as a runner also has deteriorated. He’s averaging just 5.5 yards per carry, the lowest rate of his career.

The advanced metrics tell a similar story.
Rodgers currently ranks 24th in EPA per dropback against pressure and 26th in EPA per dropback, per TruMedia. His 81.3 passer rating also ranks 16th.
Ultimately, Rodgers’ injury is more relevant from a news perspective than for fantasy football managers. His days as a no-doubt fantasy QB1 might be over.
