‘Like High School All Over Again’ – A.J. Brown Bashes ‘Messy’ Eagles Fans for ‘Weird Behavior’ in Wild, Now-Deleted Rant

Eagles star WR A.J. Brown commented that the latest drama between his teammates, Darius Slay and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, is childish

The Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl less than a month ago. You’d think that would mean everything with the team and its players is running smoothly, but that hasn’t been the case.

A.J. Brown took to social media to share his thoughts on the drama between Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Darius Slay — before deleting the thread.

Eagles Drama ‘Like High School All Over Again’

This situation has been a bit tricky to follow, so here’s a breakdown.

It all started when Darius Slay went on his podcast and discussed who might step up as the leader in the secondary if he doesn’t return to the Eagles next season.

Slay mentioned safety Reed Blankenship as a potential leader or the possibility of bringing in a veteran. One name he didn’t bring up? His former teammate of two years, Gardner-Johnson. That didn’t sit well with CJGJ, who quickly took to X to express his frustration.

At first, some speculated that Gardner-Johnson’s post was about his contract situation, but he shut down those rumors, saying, “This has 0 to do with contract.”

Both Slay and Gardner-Johnson have since posted — and deleted — tweets about the situation. Slay clarified his stance, writing:

“We just won a Super Bowl together. I do not have no problem or hate towards bra. Reed is in our leadership council which is y I said what I said. I would expect him to be the next guy up. It’s nothing but love on my end if u really kno me.. Yall have a blessed day. #WorldChamps.”

Wide receiver A.J. Brown also voiced his frustration, taking to X to call out the drama in a now-deleted rant.

It’s easy to see why Brown would be annoyed watching two of his teammates—fresh off a Super Bowl win — air out their issues on social media. But, as always, nothing truly disappears from the internet.

With Slay now released and unlikely to return, this story will probably fade once free agency begins in a few days. Still, it’s another reminder that there are no “quiet days” in the NFL and that keeping up with news in this league requires staying on your toes.
