Shocking 4-Star WR Nalin Scott Flip Crushes Arizona State, Massive Victory for Matt Rhule’s Surging Nebraska

Nebraska continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail, flipping four-star wide receiver Nalin Scott from Arizona State.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has been committed to bringing Cornhusker football back to the forefront of college football since his arrival on campus in 2023. In only his second season with the program, he led Nebraska to its first winning season since 2016.

Rhule’s success so far can be largely attributed to his work on the recruiting trail, which has brought in back-to-back top-25 classes in the 2024 and 2025 cycles. While the Cornhuskers haven’t dominated the 2026 cycle yet, they’re starting to gain momentum, most notably flipping a four-star receiver from Arizona State.

4-Star WR Nalin Scott Flips Commitment to Nebraska

Nalin Scott is a four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he’s the No. 55 receiver and a top 400 player in the country.

Scott had been committed to Arizona State since April 28, but after taking an official visit with Nebraska, he flipped his commitment to the Cornhuskers.

The 6’2,” 205-pound receiver had a busy spring, visiting Arizona State, Wisconsin, and finally Nebraska. Lincoln was his last official visit spot, so he will likely keep his commitment with the Cornhuskers through signing day.

This is a big win for Rhule and Nebraska, as Scott becomes the third-highest-rated commit in the Cornhuskers’ 2026 recruiting class.

Scott’s commitment marks the latest win for Rhule, as the head coach has been heating up on the recruiting trail in recent weeks. Before June, Nebraska only had three players committed in the cycle. However, since June 1, they have quickly picked up momentum, adding six new commits, including Scott.

Rhule’s 2026 class still isn’t where it needs to be, only being listed as the 74th-best in the country by 247Sports. He must carry the momentum into July as the Cornhuskers remain active on the recruiting trail.

For now, Scott’s recruitment can be seen as a turning point for Nebraska, as a win over a program like Arizona State is no small feat. Rhule will continue to go after other programs’ commits and try to flip them, along with staying on uncommitted prospects.

The Cornhuskers are looking to be competitive in the Big Ten this year. With a good season, Rhule and his staff can convince even more prospects that Nebraska football is returning to the standard it once had.

If Rhule can bring in another top 25 class in the 2026 cycle, it will be a massive success for the head coach and could lead to future on-field success in Lincoln.
