College Football 26’s Road to Glory Features Brutal Crowd Trolling and Epic Hat Drama on Signing Day

EA Sports College Football 26 brings back high school gameplay in Road to Glory and adds a revamped, immersive college commitment system for Signing Day.

Road to Glory is one of the fan favorite game modes in EA’s College Football franchise. The mode allows you to follow a college athlete’s career, picking his position and upgrading his skills as he progresses.

In College Football 25, the absence of a high school experience in Road to Glory disappointed many fans. But in College Football 26, high school gameplay is returning, along with a new system for choosing your college.

High School Gameplay Returns in Road to Glory With New College Commitment Feature

Before EA’s College Football Franchise went on a 10-year hiatus, users could play an entire high school season in Road to Glory, building up their recruitment status and eventually choosing a team to sign with.

In the old games, committing to a school was relatively simple. When signing day arrived, users could scroll through a list of the programs that offered them, click one, and sign with them.

However, with the high school experience making its return to Road to Glory in College Football 26, the developers at EA have completely revamped how signing day will look and added cut scenes so users can be more immersed in the experience.

In EA’s Road to Glory deep dive, they outlined how Signing Day will work in College Football 26.

“The scene is set in your high school gymnasium, with hats laid out for each school in your top three,” EA stated. “This is your moment, and how you handle it is up to you. Want to fake out the crowd? Go ahead and pick up a hat just to put it back down. Want to throw one across the gym for dramatic effect? You can do that too.”

That’s right, in the new Road to Glory mode, users will be able to pick up a hat for one program and either fake out the crowd by putting it back down or even throw the hat across the room for dramatic effect.

It may seem like overkill to put so much detail into such a small part of the overall game mode, but these small details can make or break a game. EA’s developers seem to be doing their best to create a truly immersive experience for their audience this year, and signing day will be part of that.
