‘We’ve Got a Tough Division’ — NFL Legend Tom Brady Opens Up About His First Offseason as the Raiders’ Minority Owner

Tom Brady discusses his first experiences as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and the challenges they will face in a tough AFC West.

If there’s one thing about Tom Brady, he knows a thing or two about winning. After his seven Super Bowl victories, Brady has moved on to new endeavors. As a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, Brady wants to be part of the Raiders’ resurgence.

They have been plagued with quarterback issues over the last few seasons. With a new, experienced head coach in former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at the helm, the Raiders are looking to change their recent fortunes.

As an AFC West team, the Raiders will certainly have their work cut out for them, and Brady knows that. In his first offseason as an owner, he embraces the challenges and is poised to overcome them.

Tom Brady Reflects on His Experience as Minority Owner

Brady is involved with team decisions and looks to make an impact. He expressed his enjoyment and his gratitude for the people in the Raiders’ organization.

“I’ve loved it. And, again, just trying to contribute in the ways I can to help the team be the best they can be, on and off the field. We’ve got a great group of people,” Brady said in an interview with Raiders.com columnist Paul Gutierrez.

Brady’s input is extremely valuable to an organization that wants to return to the league’s pinnacle. His winning pedigree, along with Carroll coming on board, is a step in the right direction. As much as Brady, Carroll, and new Raiders general manager John Spytek are looking to build a team to compete, the roster must perform, too.

“And our goal is to, you know, win a lot of football games,” Brady said. “You’ve got to work hard at it, and it’s all earned and we’ve got a tough division. There’s a lot of good opponents we face. But it’s going to be up to the guys and their daily commitment to doing the right things.”

Performing in the AFC West is no easy task. The Kansas City Chiefs have run the AFC since quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the helm there. They’ve been in the last three Super Bowls, winning twice. It would not be a surprise if the Chiefs won the AFC West again, considering they’ve done it in the last nine seasons.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos were both playoff teams last season and have improved over the offseason. Brady knows it will be tough, but trusts his guys to go out and earn it.

The Chargers and Broncos have their franchise guys at quarterback, while the Raiders have their quarterback in Geno Smith for the next few years. Questions are still there, though, about the team’s future.

Brady loves his new challenge as an owner while also managing his responsibilities as one of Fox Sports’ top NFL broadcasters. The Raiders have their work cut out for them, but Brady is committed to ensuring they come ready to play and win games.

Brady looks to earn his eighth Super Bowl ring as the Raiders set out to prove their doubters wrong with new offensive weapons like top 2025 NFL Draft pick running back Ashton Jeanty and Smith. After improvements, which Brady likely had a hand in, the Raiders have their eyes set on the tough challenge ahead.
