EA Sports has announced a temporary halt to Team Builder creation as it prepares for a major overhaul launching June 30, just days before College Football 26 drops on July 10, 2025. The update addresses key issues from last year’s beta version and introduces broader customization features.
Enhancements emphasize performance, user experience and improved functionality within Dynasty Mode. As EA Sports finalizes major upgrades, fans can expect a more robust, immersive creation tool when College Football 26 officially launches next month.

Originally introduced in College Football 25 as a beta, Team Builder faced criticism for performance limitations, minimal customization, and weak integration with other modes. The incoming overhaul resolves those concerns and expands creative freedom across the board.
EA Sports confirmed that users will not lose their work from last year.
“We know how much time and creativity you poured into your Team Builder teams last year and we wanted to ensure you could bring your College Football 25 creations directly into College Football 26 without having to start over from scratch,” the studio said in a release.
Players can transfer their CF25 teams directly by selecting the import option within Team Builder. Any incompatible assets will be flagged for revision before republishing.
Significant enhancements to customization include a shift from a 10-image maximum to a 5 MB per-team upload limit. This gives users far more flexibility to include textures, logos, and artwork without being constrained by number caps.
Team and player customization has been substantially deepened. Users can now adjust Bio and Skill Ratings & Abilities tabs, editing elements such as player archetype, development traits, mental skills, physical attributes, potential, star ratings, and redshirt status.
Builders can also control pipelines, with full authority over recruiting strengths and regional influence. Team Builder introduces four stadium options including a high school field and three generic stadiums, with the largest holding up to 66,000 fans.
One of the most anticipated additions is the Rivalry feature. Creators can now build up to five custom rivalries per team, complete with data on first meetings, series records, and recent outcomes. Teams can be scheduled to play against other Team Builder schools.
